Lobbyists to ambush Rudd with giant joint

Recommended Posts

:D I don't believe that for a second CG. If I did I wouldn't bother replying in this thread. We are right, all we need to do is get main stream Australia to listen and take us seriously and they will see that.

Peace MongyMan

And how are you going to get "main stream Australia to listen and take us seriously" ? By the giant joint ? :D

I give up ,, the mainstream public will never take us seriously as we smoke DRUGS ! AND ,, we PORTRAY ourselves as Hippy Stoners , we lost the battle before we began by flying GIANT JOINTS ;)

I for one will just sit back in my house smoking bongs /joints and tell no one about it ,, therfore not attracting attention to myself for others to condemn ;)

Good Luck with the CAUSE ;)

I think that considering the lack of understanding on the governments side of things having a whole town with a group of people who are allowed to have a whole weekend of celebration for weed is a massive achievement. Nowhere else has attempted it. and no one else has at all. Everyone only feels safer nimbin with this because of their achievements. ALOT has been achieved by them even if you refuse to admit it.

\

maaybe what has been achieved isn't enough for your standards.. but I am sorry, what have YOU done??

Tell me, do you think women burning their bras was a serious misrepresentation of the rights our foremothers wanted to achieve? or that it was too in yer face and therefore not a respectable movement?

Well ,, what did it achieve ?? They now have saggy TITS ! Woopie ! We men really wanted that ! They are still underpaid , and discriminated against ,, if you believe the crap that is written in Mags and Newspapers . Either way mate ,,, they failed and didnt get what they wanted ,, they are still whinging and want more !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111

Exactly ,,, shove it in the face of the Gov. and attract attention ,, what do you expect back ? Of course you are going to get the people that oppose it and bring it into the limelight ,, and the Gov have to be seen to be doing something about it ! Or they wont get votes ,, and lets face it ,, there are more non stoners than there are stoners. So , maybe just fading into the background and being less conspicuous would be a better idea than attracting attention to it . As the chances of pot being legalised is very slim . OR ,, maybe ,,, and here is a great idea ,,, we could have some smoke houses set up ,, just like those heroin shooting galleries :D

Seriously ,, we have to abandon this "Cause" .. it is a load of shit and will only cause more problems by people putting it into the spotlight all the time ! Pot will never be legalised ,, at least not in our lifetime .

All you have to do is look at how much attention the idiot bikers brought to the table when they bashed that guy in a Public place ,Airport,, now they have attracted attention to themselves and brought the law down on them . They should have "conducted business" in a quiet way and then no attention would have been brought upon them ! Pretty simple really .

Anyway , they are just my thoughts ,, right or wrong ,, I think there is something in there for people to think about .

Bash away .

Are you aware of how the gay community finally got their rights CG. They said enough was enough, came out of the closet and marched down the streets of Sydney (now called the mardi gras) and demanded their RIGHTS! Before that they were all hiding away (like we are) and the general ignorant community thought that all gay people were those perverts that hang out side public toilets all night, kind of how that same general ignorant community see all bong heads as drug addicts who refuse to work, WHY? Firstly, because we won’t stick together. Secondly and most importantly we refuse to come out of our grow closet and show people that cannabis smokers come from all different kinds of demographics and are not all drug addicts!

Fuck that, “I’d rather die on my feet than live on my knees”, mid night oil I think, ;)

Anyway your wrong about cannabis not being legalized in our life time, you just need to see the incredible things happen all over the world right now regarding cannabis law reform. But there won’t be any significant law reform in Australia until the US legalizes it that’s just simple fact. But we need to start creating awareness NOW!

Peace

That's kind of the kettle calling the pot black don't you think Mongy Man!

I can't see how?? It wasn't me said Nimbin are the only ones doing anything about it, which is pretty much like spitting in the face of the majority of people trying to do their bit and writing their efforts off as worthless.

............. so are littlbit and lightning (they think there some kind of cannabis rolaty in australia) and no one seems to complain about them, when all I've really seen them do is come here asking for donations for lunch money at court!!!

If your not already aware both lightning and littlebit are banned members now. I don't think many would disagree with your view of them either.

But that's not my point, in this particular situation the HEMP Embassy got the legalization movement some good coverage and if you can't accept that then maybe it's not me that's the idiot.

They did yes and I agree it's a good thing, but it could just as easliy been portrayed by the media differently. It's just lucky 'this time' it wasn't. It wasn't from good PR planning.

Can you name one person or group who have dedicated as much time to legalizing cannabis in Australia than the people of nimbin, or is calling me a idiot a good enough explanation for you, :D .

Are you really that naive? If you took the entire population of Nimbin ( and remember not everyone there is 'fighting for the cause' actively) They are still the minority in numbers of people trying to to their bit Australia wide. But here is the problem, they get the most publicity because of their 'in your face' approach and 'silly stunts' in public and so what happens is joe average gets the impression that 'the only' people interested in law reform are 'hippy extremest', and then they don't care. At all.

If you guys keep on sitting around bagging out the hands down largest cannabis movement in Australia, rather than trying to work with them then YOU GUYS will end up doing more damage to the movement than some skinny, junkie looking hippie caught on camera at the mardi grass could ever do!

The problem is jabez any time anyone disagrees with the way Nimbin does things up goes the cry 'they do the most we need to follow them and do it their way' The truth is their way sux to most people from a PR point of view and is a joke to the people who most need to be shown that cannabis isn't the evil it's made out to be. They could acive so much more if they realised it's the PR letting them down. I'm sure alot more would get actively involved that don't atm because, put simply the majority aren't 'hippy stoners' and don't want to be seen as one.

Peace MongyMan

YES! "better to die on your feet than to live on your knees!"

CG: I am a woman and I am aware that in some situations yes we do still do not get paid the same amount as men. and thankyou for assuming I read magazines and newspapers :D and why shouldn't we whinge as you so considerately put it - I thought all humans deserve a chance at a fair life. fuck you I say, in the nicest possible way - just because you are a man doesn't mean that you deserve more and know more..

I am a lesbian too. and there isn't a day that goes by that I do not remember the fact that there are ignorant people out there that think I am less than human. But I keep on truckin' because I know things will change - for one I know centrelink recognizes gay couples now.

I would not have what I have today if the woman had not done what they did and what the gay men and women did!

:D Exactly token. Never let the bastards beat you is how I put it. We know we are right. Cannabis is demonized unnecessarily all we need to do is get joe average to listen and show him that.

we have the truth on our side and all the gov. has is lies. In the end we can't lose imo. Lies always get seen for what they are eventually. How fast that happens is the only question.

We have come a long way now Token in regards to the gay/lesbian issues and the women's issues. I had an older female partner at one stage who was locked up in a psychiatric unit. 25 years ago, SOLELY because she was a lesbian.... at least we have moved on from there, and in a fairly short space of time really.

Yes we might not have full equality STILL in real terms but our rights ARE now enshrined in law.

WHY can't we do the same for cannabis IF WE WORK TOGETHER.

Dissension helps NO ONE except the establishment we are trying to change.
