hi guys, im about to grow mj but im not sure about the lighting?

what type of light does it have to be?

and wher can it be purchased from and wat is the cost?

 

Another question, wher do u normally find seeds?

how many seeds do i have to have?

also does it need special soil?

what can i grow it in?

does it need to be watered daily?

The questions you ask have been answered hundreds of times in the forums... read the growing forums and then read them again and then ask us what you're still unclear on

 

Read the Grow-Diaries section first, then look at the Indoor Growing forums... should give you a better handle on where to start.

I know exactly how you feel mate, Feburary this year I was as confused and bewildered as you.

 

But after reading, reading and reading some more, then asking questions, and being told to read more... I picked it up, you will to!

 

MJ growing is very addictive and great fun, it can seem daunting to start, but once you actually know enough to make a decision on how to grow, the enjoyment factor rises with each crop

I'd like to take this opportunity to add a bit more direction to your research. You say you want to grow some natural mj, what do you mean by that? Do you mean bush bud or do you mean not full of chemicals?

 

As a suggestion try reading about soil and coco grows. Also if the 'dreaded hydro chemicals' are what is bothering you, look into flushing (you can grow hydro and get rid of the chemicals by flushing the plants system).

 

Don't rule anything out though, you might not read about something and later find it to be exactly what you were looking for.

You can find some great deals on ebay for lighting. I bought a 400 watt switchable MH/HPS with reflector and bulbs for $175. It was brand new and the guy was a great seller. If you didnt no MH (metal halide) is used during veg. and HPS (high pressure sodium) is used during flowering. I ordered my seeds from www.planetskunk.com . I placed the order about a week ago, but he hasnt shipped them out yet, but everything I've heard about planetskunk was good so Im pretty sure they will be coming in the next couple of weeks. The seeds usually come in a pack of 10 or 15. Just buy some good soil like Fox Farm is supposed to be real good and put it in a pot. Start off in a smaller pot then transplant tp a bigger one once your plant gets more developed. You can buy some Miracle Grow and use that during your grow, but dont over do it. Give it about 1/4 the strength it says when u have at least 2 sets of leaves. Then give it 1/2 the strength when it gets about 6-8 inches tall. Then the full strength when its about 10-12 inches tall. Give it the nutrients weekly and you should be good. I usually water my plants every day, but not heavily. Then when they get a little bigger I do it every other day. Well hopefully that will get you off to a good start and yeah just look around the site to find some more information because there is loads.-----Peace

As a fellow noob, can I make the suggestion to you guys - a little "Grow Dictionary" would be awesome - something that defines all the abbreviations you guys use... SOG, SCROG, MH, HPS and all that stuff
