My fan seems to be starting to make some rather loudish noises of late and I was wondering if anybody could help me with this. It used to go along at a nice volume and the sound was constant. It has started to make some wail type noises now and will become a bit louder for about 20 minutes or so then go lower again etc etc. I was thinking maybe it just needed a little crc or something sprayed on it to try and fix it up but I thought I would ask and see if anybody else has ever had problems with the fans they use.

Yo. I'm new to growing indoors and am about to move a plant about a foot high into a cupboard with a 400w hps setup. Was wondering exactly how high above the plant the light should be positioned?

I don't usually do this, but in this case, I feel it is important to let folks know about this company. They offer great pricing on lights and I have many friends that have been satisfied with their products in the past. Unfortunately, all that seems to have changed. In the past month, 4 members of my home site have ordered ballasts from Inside sun.One got what he ordered and it works fine. One received a defective rebuilt unit when he ordered new. After some arguing, he has been told that he will be given a new one. We will see. Another member ordered a rebuilt unit and got a sealed outdoor type ballast that overheated immediately. After contacting inside sun, …

does anyone know where to buy this in Australia? and has anypne used it? cheers. The Envirolite has a built-in ballast, uses little energy, and provides the full spectrum that plants require. New technological electronic ballasts provide for instant, flicker-free illumination compared to early designed magnetic ballasts. Envirolites' have a rated life of 10,000 hours before the intensity may diminish (compare this with most flourescent grow tubes on the market that begin to diminish after only a couple of months!). The heat generated is far less than any H.P.S. or M.H. light source. Working temperature is so low that you can actually touch the bulb while it is on with…

Hi guys, I dunno what your experiences with these globes are but I have to say that i'm disapointed with the quality of these globes. I've also been told by a hydro shop owner whom I respect that it's due to the fact they are in a smaller envelope and therefore cheaper to manufacture and therefore wholesale. They are heavily marketed but not researched. Has anyone else had any probs? Oh also forgot to mention I happened to be in the room when one of these things "blew" and there was flames inside of the thing. I had to quickly rush over and unplug it. Who knows what might have happened if I wasn't there..... wc

Howdy I'm just doing some research about setting up a subterranean (semi-cellar/concealed cupboard) arrangement for a hydro setup and due to the slightly limited height I can use, HID/Na lights seem a bit OTT for me, so I'm considering banks of fluoro tubes close together (about 500 W worth) on the walls and ceiling of this cavity (BTW, I will ventilate it). Should I use the 5500 K daylight (light blue) for the vegetative stage and should I use either the 3200 K warm white or those mauve growlights (don't know what the colour temp of those is) like the Sylvania Gro-Lux, as used in aquariums? I might also investigate the use of compact fluoros on a string of batten hold…
