I need to get some CFL grow lights that are equal to 250 -300 Watts I'm only going to be growing 1-2 plants at a time so not sure if that's an issue i am new to growing and i do know that HID are the way to go , but i have only a small space to work with and about 500$ at my disposal I'd be happy to use a certain amount of CFL's for vegetative growth then add maybe 1-2 Bulbs to up the amount of NM during Flowering (budding) Here are some pictures of: The room i plan on growing in, the foam box with multiple drain holes , top shelf and metal pole i will possibly hang lights from , wooden tray i made to cover the carpet and keep the plants/foam box in as well as the exterio…

I can't decide on what lighting would be best for me I've been told a 400W would be fine for my situation and wouldn't require any ventilation (Cooltube required probably) but i would like your opinions on a few setups. I will only be growing 1-2 plants for my own use this is my first grow btw Cupboard size is 1200mm in length 500mm Wide , 1550mm High (The shelf is the same only differs in height) A setup im currently bidding on (http://www.ebay.com....=item2c6689f279) One I'm considering (http://www.ebay.com....=item27c8b44b7d) I really don't want any ventilation that would require me to drill or cut a hole in the roof wall or door i do have an AC in the room wh…

Hello all! Was just curious to find out if anyone here has used these before? It seems that when it comes down to eliminating odor, there are two main choices - Carbon Filters and Ozone generators. Now I'm no expert on either but from what I've gathered, Ozone generators produce/give out a chemical called Ozone (or something of the sort) to eliminate the odor of your smelly little grow op... Some people are a little put off by this as it is supposedly toxic (or at least that's what I've read). The other things I've head are that they simply don't work that well. Carbon filters seem the go however they can be a bit pricey. There is another option though - negative io…

Hey all I know it's been discussed in a few threads here and there but for the life of me can't remember which ones - did a quick search too but the only thread i found wasn't too clear. With carbon filters can you set them up on either end of the fan or does it have to pull through the Carbon Filter. All the info on the Carbon filters suggests you need to have: Air in the room >> CF >> fan >> ducting, with or without the ducting before or after the fan... Is this the case? Can you put the fan in front to blow through the Carbon filter? so: Air in the room >> fan >> CF >> ducting (with the >> being the direction of the airfl…

Hi Guys, Wanted everyone’s 2 cents worth ïŠ My questions are: -Should I upgrade to a second 600w HPS lamp and cool tube so there are 2x 600w cool tubs? or -Should I upgrade to 1 x 1000w Cool tube? -How many plants are recommended for best results? Not interested in SOG as I keeping the number of plants down is important to meïŠ I have: - a 1.2 by 1.2 tent -a 600w HPS Son-T Philips lamp with cool tube -temps over 24hr range 17C to 25C -using perlite only (With Crystal Dew A&B Bud, Ryzotonic, super thrive, liquid pot ash, Biojuice bloom,). -Gravity feed system with a valve (Float valve) so the tray is always submerged-I like this as its cheap simple and works well f…

G'day, I'm in the middle of setting up a smaller grow box to house some clones while my main grow is still going in the larger one. I can't seem to work out how to wire the lighting up though (or if it's even possible in the way I want). A general extension cord only has three wires (live, neutral, and ground). The light fitting seems to have four places for cable to run, the only ones marked are earth and loop (I've included an image of this). I've searched around trying to find a wiring diagram or something for Australian sockets but can't seem to find anything. I know the basics but I'm no electrician, but that said I don't know of any sparkys that I trust enough…

Hi all, Now i know this has been touched on a couple of times but anyone have first hand experience with Plasma lights? Yes I know the led/hps/hid argument, but is it time for a plasma experiment? Liking the idea of a dual spectrum for a small tent, any input? Cheers all

Howdy Folks, I am battling with a bit of a heat problem in my tent, Do any of you have an opinion on what type you consider to be the best? i am tossing up between two different ones on ebay at the moment, both the same price ( $56.00 free postage ) one has the reflector on the outside and the other has the reflector on the inside.. What do you reckon? i can add links to them if you wish? Also do you think that a cool tube would be ok connected inline with the carbon filter and fan or will i need more ducting and another fan setup to get it running efficiently? Cheers Z

So I have a few weeks left of flower, And I think it is time to retire my old coil ballast. I have been looking into Lucius Maximus. Has any one used them. It's Lucius or Lumatek. Any feed back would be great.

I'm in the market for a new fan to cool the tips of the plants and while searching came across these : http://www.ebay.com....=item35bcbda033 There's a few different types, most seem to be cheap Chinese ones (like above) that copy the dearer Dyson version. Factors I like are low power consumption, slimline design that will fit into the corner of the tent not taking up much room, 90 degree oscillation and I'm guessing quiet operation. Anyone used these before or know anything about them ? I also came across these that look OK but shipping is a killer and they would have the wrong power point plug. http://www.ebay.com....=item564abec50d At least these have bee…

Hi all, if you step out side you will know it is well and truly winter now. After many many moons, I have finally gotten my new room up and running and onto my second run. Which is always a treat in a fresh new CLEAN room. However as it is new I have not grown in winter in this room. I am in my second week of 12/12 and the girls are looking nice. I was sitting in my room last night checking everything and As my in line fan kicked in 2 hours after light switched on, the air was so cold. Temp checked it and the air pumping in was 9 D, outside temp 10. So I temp checked the whole room no dramas. I have a nice oil heater set to 21 D, that keeps the room heated during the d…

Hi all. Finally got all my gear. Now to set it all up. Now do I put the carbon filter on the inlet of my fan, or on the outlet? And can I mount it on top of my drobe? Or even in my roof? As i wanna put my fan in the roof with ducting straight down to drobe? As its a noisy bugger. Thanks all

I'm only doing 2 plants in there and was wonder whats more important, temp or regular air flow? will a thermostat provide enough air flow? Iv never had to worry about either before so im a bit unsure of what to do.

Hi guys, long time lurker, first time poster. I've got a 400w MH high bay light that I had done a remote ballast conversion to (thanks cannaversity), and it came with the standard issue 4200k globe. I've tested it and it is all working fine. I ordered a growlush Globe which arrived yesterday, tested it and all good. But I just got home from work to find my cupboard in complete darkness. I removed the globe and refitted the original globe, which fired straight up. What gives? I retried the new globe, to make sure it was tight enough, I haven't touched the glass at all with bare skin, the inside glass bit is still a white/clear colour, not brown or black. Any ideas? Shou…
