heh stoners, ... So there are pretty distinct symptoms that will tell you that you have over-fertilised your plants, the fan leaves will tell you soon enough. But i was thinking more on the side of leaf diagnosis and watering/ moisture levels, ie from looking at the fan leaves on a plant that is relatively healthy, correct PH, healthy root structure, showing no signs of being over-fertilised, can you establish whether you are under or overwatering or whether you have too much light/heat or a combination of all these factors. So like without moisture meters, picking up pots, temp. guage... whatever, no tools, can you diagnose from looking at the leaves only... if …

I woke up to find a 2 week old seedling had been munched on during the night and being so small had collapsed under the weight of whatever munched on it I couldn't find any grubs or other insects on the plants and couldn't work out what it was. Last night I went out to check the plants after dark and found a fat arsed earwig heading towards another plant. I read in a book that these bastards eat holes in the leaves at night and Pyrethrum is the recommended solution but the plants had already been sprayed with pyrethrum so that doesn't work. Does anyone know any other ways (preferably chemical free) to stop my plants becoming an allnight diner for earwigs? Thank…

my plants are 10 weeks old and 6 weeks into flower, growing in per/ver mix, hand watered under a 400 watt son t. about 2 weeks ago i noticed some very small black bugs, less than 0.5mm, crawling around in my medium, they are all black, with what looks like a pair of little horns or feelers on the front, ive been told they are fungus nats and they wont harm my plant....Is this right..? my plants are all healthy and have no sign of trouble..Its just that theres quite a few now and I would like to make sure they wont kill my babies... There are no bugs on the plant, just in the medium...and they dont fly around.... Cheers for da help....

Hi, I am a relatively new grower, grown once before but this my first time with hydroponics. I have 5, 10 cm plants, in grodan 3 inch blocks. The plants look healthy but have a very slight white discolouration on some the leaves. More disturbingly there is a white mould growing on the top of the grow block. There are no roots showing through the block so I cannot see any roots at the moment. Has anybody seen this before or any advice would be very much appreciated.

Hi ya growers. Every time i grow i am either not noticing or too stoned to notice about fan leaves: Once you turn to 12/12 should you start losing fan leaves near the bottom and around the middle of the plant? By losing i mean going yellow and dying off- not too many but enough to get paraniod about. Anybody who takes notice of these things may be able to help. thanks

Ok, frist I'll give you guys a run down of my plants history and then tell you about my problem. We germinated the seeds under two 2 foot flouro tubes (one grow lux and one tri phospour) until they where about 7 cm tall. They where looking quite healthy, and we had fertilised them once with some miracle grow. Then, for reasons that I'd rather not go into, we had to tranfer the plants into a small cupboard and we put them under 2x48 watt compact flouros. Now the top sets of leaves have begun to turn yellow, it started from the middle of the leave and its looks kind of like a rash, its really wierd. I think it was either too much light or the lights are too hot, but I t…
