Hi everyone, I need help with sexing some plants - they have outgrown their 1L airpots and I only want to transplant keepers [female]. They are all the same strain [Mandala 8 Miles High]. There are 2 plants showing what appear to be calyxes but no pistils [1st and last pics] - can these still be male? or am I safe to assume they're female. And 2 that look to have male pre-flowers [2nd and 3rd pics]. I'd really appreciate if someone, with more experience than I, can confirm these for me.

Hi everyone, So I was reading the pub ammo in ZOO magazine today and it say's "plants are able to recognise their close relatives and grow less aggressively when surrounded by "family members"" not sure how true this is though. Thought I'd just put it out there. Btw anyone here ever tried to make a solar led grow setup? Thanks

SO i have some seeds i got off a mate. They were grown in my area outdoors and do very well (i seen). I live in Australia, victoria. They are a hybrid of some kind. I have them going now only just started in the green house. My question if i grew them in green house instead of outdoors like they were, and bred them for seeds, would these seeds be more suited to grow in the greenhouse when i planted them the next year? Or does it take a lot more generations than that? Would it weaken the genetic ability to grow outdoors?? Thanks

Hey stoners, I'm nearing the end of my grow, but I have a couple of questions/problems. The first being that my colas don't look all that nice/tight, instead of nugs they are sort of spindly, with what I can only describe as little fingers protruding out. The smaller lower buds look nice though. The second is, even with stringing up the top colas, one has folded over, the branch hasn't snapped, just folded and I can't get the right angle to string it back upright. Would this be a problem to leave it this way? Just one more thing, one of the main colas, about 50% has turned yellowish and I can see what I would say looks a little bit like a spider web in the top of it? …

Hi everyone. I have a problem with heat in my indoor grow, and I'd really appreciate the input of the experienced indoor growers on this site. I have a wardrobe. I'm trying to grow two or three small plants (personal use only). They're at the seedling stage now. Anyway, these are the relevant facts as far as I can tell: The wardrobe is roughly 45cm deep, 80cm wide, and 120cm high. I have the plants on a shelf, so if necessary I can remove it and extend the height of the wardrobe to 150cm, but it's currently at 120cm. I have a 250w ballast and two globes: one is HPS and the other MH. Both seem to work in the same ballast (I think it's an HPS ballast and the MH globe i…

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and my first post here. I recently moved from Sydney to Canberra and I've been struggling with a shortage of weed. I don't have the balls to just go around asking people for Marijuana, and i've even made the occassional trip up to Sydney to meet old mates to get some but it's so much effort. Since taking up smoking it's really helped with my depression. I'm interested in growing my own marijuana for a hobbie and mainly for self benefit so I don't run out. I've found some seedbanks and picked out a few strains. What i'd like to know is is it easy to be caught for purchasing seeds online? Having such extreme winters and summers here i hop…

Hi Can anyone pinpoint what the problem is here? The new leaves are curling up and the colour is pale. It is a pinapple chunk, in canna coco with a little perlite. Feeding weak nutrients at 5.8-9 ph. The tip of one of the 1st sets of leaves is brown, which looks a bit like nute burn, but I would expect the colour to have got better before any burning happened - its been a light green pretty much from the start. I have been thinking it may have been heat so ive lowered the rack a little. There is a power plant next to it in the same mix getting the same nutes which isn't showing any ill effects. P Chunk Power Plant Power Plant seems to be showing a …

hi I went to the hydro shop the other day I went there I bought some benefical bacteria. while I was there I asked if they sold water chillers for my nute tank and he asked who said I needed one I told him I want to grow in hydroton / clay balls over summer and would like to keep my tank at at constant 22 as I have been running my water at that temp for the last 6 years now. then he said that they don't sell them and only sell water heaters and started to tell me its fine for the roots to get up to 28 d at that point I made my purchase and got out because I thought he was talking shit. so what do you guys think is he talking crap?

I say this because iv been using ro water in hydroton / clay balls for the last few years and when I went back to cooc at the start of the year clones in small pot they where lush green feed with ro water. then I move house and think I may as well use tap water since I have a friend that grows in the same suburb with no dramas so I went back to tap water and as some know iv had so much dramas it not funny. anyway just wondering if this hard tap water could be my prob…

Hi everyone, I'm looking for some clarification on flowering times. If a strain description says flowering time of 9 - 10 weeks is this from when flowering is induced or from when buds become apparent please? I have some SSS Bubblefucks that I thought wouldn't be ready for another 2 weeks or so but most pistils are brown and they are starting to foxtail significantly so I'm wondering whether they could be mature enough to harvest now.

Seen this awesome gadget thought is let you guys in on it. Although a little gimiky pretty cool for a hobby grower "The unit houses four separate sensors that monitor light intensity, ambient temperature, soil moisture and fertilizer levels, with real-time alerts sent to your iPhone whenever a plant needs your assistance. For example, if your plant is becoming parched the app will send you a warning so you don’t forget to water it. Likewise, if it senses that temperatures are too high for a specific species of plant, the Flower Power will let you know before it even begins to wilt." Has 2000 species university in Netherlands worked on the list maybe canna is in the…
