G'day Guys! It's my first time posting here, and I'm also looking to start my first grow. So far I have everything in order, BUT, when it comes to the soil/nutrients part, I get a little confused and overwhelmed by all the different opinion/information that flies around online (especially in overseas forums). SO, I was hoping some of you experienced Aussie growers could help point me in the right direction regarding which soils to use for a small, indoor grow. And also, which nutrients should I be using for Veg and Flower? (so many to choose from) Ideally, I'd like to be able to grab these items from either my local Bunnings or nursery. I DO have access to a local hyd…

Hey everyone. A mate's gifted me a bag of Canna Terra Professional and I'm wondering if anyone here has had any success with it and any tips when it comes to using it? I've been using some Sri Lanka coco with basic coco nutes (Greendream) the last couple of years and while it works it'll be good to try something new. Also I've limited myself to small indoor runs and it would be good if I could run this outside this upcoming season. I talked to the guys at the local hydro shop about it and they were telling me I should run it in conjunction with H&G soil or coco nutes on a feed water water feed basis every 3 days or so or when the soil is going dry.

Hi all,,,, Im wondering what way up you plant your seed , pointy end up or down?.....As i , crack the seed before planting, exposing the tap root, then plant it root down. But according to an article ive read recently, thats wrong.......apparently the 1st thing the tap root does is take a u turn, so if its planted down it has to go up , then down again,....but if planting the root facing up it only has 1 turn to make, the reason for the u turn , is to give itself leverage to push out of the soil, which does make a lot of sence. The article goes on to say if you dig up a seed (planted down) before emerging you will see more of a s bend in the tap root, & can lead …

Hello Looking for Organic tea help. I have made an awesome lucerne (alfalfa) tea and now im almost ready to make my Super Tea. My plan is to use the lucerne tea as the base for my solution as i have access to unlimited pidgeon, chicken and Horse Manure, worm castings and am trying to obtain bat and seabird guano. I also make my own potash from burning hardwood. I plan to add molasses to the mix. My tea container holds 150 litres My question is 4 fold: 1) For this project is there such thing as overkill. Should i just add all these together and steep it in the tea or should i add equal parts? 2) should i add the Guano and the potash only whilst using it for flower (which …

As we drift thru seed banks, i note sum seeds are tagged as a short grow period ( not auto) What does this actually mean, are they targeted at countries that have short summers, or are they better suited to indoor, do they yield as well as a normal outdoor photoperiod, how much shorter is there grow period ? What is there main objective Nutter3

This shows how dopey I can be! At four weeks of 24/24 l put a little two light LED (about 100w draw) in my box alongside a 600w. That was a week ago but last night I realised I forgot to put it on a timer . It was on for seven days. The 600w has been on a timer. I'm guessing the plants are wanting to revert to veg but won't be able to as I put a timer in today, but I'm wondering how long it's going to stall things till harvest ? I'm thinking an extra two weeks but will probably loose a bit in yield.the last couple of nights I started to think they'd slowed down a bit ,so there are visible signs of a reaction Big Bud had started to show brown hairs when it shouldn't ,other …

Hello everyone, i am adventuring out into some more organic gardening my main focus will be on Microorganisms and making them work for me and my garden. i will be learning all of this as i go so please if you see any mistakes please feel free to point them out or correct them. i am brewing a lacto bacillus serum which will be the workhorse of my current project. the lacto serum will be used to make bokashi compost, which will in turn be used to make a bokashi/vermicompost. this vermikashi will be added to coco as a substrate. the lacto serum will also be used to brew a fermented fish hydrsylate fertiliser which will be combined with a plant based fermented tea using…

some info & opinion on the use of both from kisorganics.com https://www.kisorganics.com/blogs/news/99806785-peat-vs-coco This can be a hotly debated topic among growers as to what's the best media for growing plants. In this article, I'll weigh in with my opinion on the subject as there are Pros and Cons to both. "Sphagnum" is a genus of approximately 120 different species of mosses known as "peat moss." Sphagnum and the peat formed from it do not decay readily because of the phenolic compounds embedded in the moss's cell walls. Peat moss can also acidify its surroundings by taking up cations, such as calcium, magnesium, and potassium, and releasing hydrogen ions. …

I've been heavily into planted aquariums for some time now, and the cheapest method of fertilizing the tanks is with dry nutrients blended as needed. K2SO4, KNO3, KH2PO4, etc, etc. So now the time has come to grow my own weed for personal use and I've been looking at fertilization methods, and it seems that everyone uses store bought blends or blends of these store bought blends. The local BGA here sells nutrients for around $1/kg (20-25kg bags), so while the initial outlay may be higher, the savings in the long run are immense. Not to mention that given that you have complete control over N/P/K/S/Ca/Mg/Trace ratios, you can tinker as needed during the various cycles…

First time post, first time grow! Am setting up a little something something (cupboard, LED, coco) and am wondering if there's anyone from Perth lurking here - and if so, where the good hydroponic shops in town are. Not really too keen on getting everything online, even with the discounts. Play it safe. Thanks Perthies! Look forward to sharing my diary here if and when.

Hey all, Haven't contributed to the OZ Stoners community for years ...seems my original profile still exists but impossible to re-establish ...but that's not why I am posting. I have just spent ages creating a growroom journal spreadsheet with tons of formulas, calculators, conversions, etc - which I would like to share with the Oz Stoner crew. Problem is I can't figure out how to upload it here... Anyone have any ideas on how to go about this? I originally made it for personal use - so I could keep good records of my own grows and to simplify things like ppm conversion, lucas formula addback, US to metric conversion, etc, etc. I've just started using it …
