General Cultivation Q&A

As some of you might know I'm a coco perlite grower. I'll be buying a bag of vermiculite this weekend and have perlite already (just standard coarse size not chunky). I'm not keen on watering all the time so would like advice as to how much vermiculite to mix with my perlite to get roughly the same water retention as straight coco. I've heard 70/30 perlite/vermiculite as common. Can I add more vermiculite? Is there such a thing as too much vermiculite in my mix? Cheers team. Posted from the OZ Stoners mobile app

thinking about making a hempy bucket, watched a few small vids on the system , but not sure what is a good mix to use , ie, 50-50 coco perlite , 100% perlite & so on …...whats your preferred medium to use & why ……..do your yields stay about the same , & what is a good nute to run , ie soil , coco or aqua nute line , the vids I saw said it didn't matter, ive heaps of canna coco A+B , is that ok...……& bucket size , 5-15 gallon , is the suggested size , whats your preferred size bucket & why Nutter

Hey crew Another question - can keeping a growing plant in a small pot cause it to die ? I’ve googled this and saw mixed opinions that they either grow slower or stop growing . I’ve got a 8 plants vegging under a 315cmh in small pots (probably 1 litre each or slightly less) in this lot I have a power Africa, gelato , cream cheese and 3 supreme cbd Durban’s (nirvana strain) from Seedsman.. A previous post I put up a while ago I had some issues with 80% of seedsmans seeds I germinated but they re sent some and had no issues - except I was expecting issues again so I have more than I needed which is why I have these ones vegging in a small tent and haven’t upgraded the …

Hi all, im wondering , if im going to cross 2 seeds of the same strain , how far apart should the seeds be planted , ie 2-3 weeks I think it takes more time to produce pollen, on a CS treated plant, than the flower is at optimal time to receive pollen , so if I planted 1 seed , to be the male donor , how many weeks to plant the 2nd seed to be the female, would you suggest, planting , so the flowers are at full bloom to take pollen, at the same time the pollen is ready Nutter

G'day So I have a small grow tent 50 X 90 X 160 Small footprint but bit of height, most I could go. Looking to get a small fan, obviously need to get air in there, but I'm only looking for min to just change the air, I don't need carbon, no neighbours to worry about, and I don't want something noisy. Was thinking a better computer fan, taped onto duct, then use a short piece of pipe over the duct, to give it some rigidity to tighten the two vent drawcords over. Really want to try avoid a huge axial inline fan, as have space, noise, and financial limitations. Anyone?? Cheers

Has anyone in Aus given this a try? It should be completely legal as Phylos requires you to wash the stem/genetic material 3 times in isopropyl alcohol to prevent positives if they are pulled through customs. This method was implemented to be able to cross states and go through mail centres in the US where they do occasionally test and infrequently search and test for trace amounts. ordered from Seedman and now I'm scared customs have them. Normally when I order I get the message on my tracking saying "arrived awaiting clearance (inbound)" but it changes to "item processed" within about an hour, but its been like this for days, I am worried customs have it and I am worried about the consequences. Does "arrived awaiting clearance (inbound)" mean customs have it? and with it being on that message for a few days mean they have found the seeds? thanks guys.
