General Cultivation Q&A

Is It possible for me to clone from a flowering plant or is it a waste of time ... Im only asking because my clones got killed and i need new ones ...

Hi all. This is my first attempt at a grow. I just dropped a seed into a pot that my little xmas tree came in and it's sprouted. I had it sitting on the balcony (i live in an apartment in the city) but it didn't get sun consistently. it's now sitting in my cupboard with a small 16 watt flouro providing light set on timer with 16 hrs on 8 off. Does this sound like it may work? I've also bought some yates multi nutrient plant food which i haven't added yet. i was going to leave it a couple of weeks before adding a very diluted mix. once again, will this work or am i on the wrong track? any help will be appreciated. cheers.

this is my first time to grow a plant and i dont know where to start. i have a few questions that i hope you guys can help me. im planning to start at 2 seeds first and ill be planting it indoors. is it alright if it doesnt get direct sunlight that much? im living on an apartment and my windows are facing like north east so i dont get direct sunlight that much but my ventilation will be good enough for he plant to breath since im living on the 2nd floor and i can open the windows 24hrs. will there be any problem during the flowering stage? and why do most of the topics that i read that they discard males? does that mean they throw it or is it still "smokable"? i understan…

Guys i need to know the amount of feed needed each day from start to finsh.I am useing 15lt pots /Canna Coco fiber/Canna coco A.B/Canna Zym/Rhizotonic/Bloom/600w HPS/120.120.200 Grow tent/.I know ph and cf and the rest im just not sure about how much to feed them ive read about 300 ml per day twice aday is this right???????......

Ok iv searched and havnt been able to find anything about growing seasons for outdoor cultivation, probably cause im a bit of a newbie and dont know where to look. I from Sydney, NSW and was just wondering if anyone could help me out on the seasons that are best for growing. When should I start germanating the seed and planting them outside? Peace.

Hi to all If the situation is : that you take 2 cuttings from a plant veg those 2 for 5-6 weeks take 2 cuttings from those (then flower the 6 week old ones) veg those 2 for 5-6 weeks take 2 cuttings from those (then flower the 6 week old ones) How many years can you keep this up for. I have read and heard contradictory statements from everyone Be good to hear from someone who does this and has a long stint under their belt- if anyone has a link to some info I would really appreciate it--I can't find a damn thing on google. Several months ago, a friend had this beautiful sativa growing, I took some clones and threw one in the back of my grow room behind the Crystal I just harvested. I have another 2 pine sativas outside that are dwarfs due to budding when only a foot tall, these will soon be put back into the room in larger pots and re-veged! Hey Guys, I have recently moved to a country with a tropical climate and i am considering starting to grow outdoors. Here the temperature is fairly consistent throughout the year at 25-35 degrees Celsius and quite Humid. Does anyone here have experience with growing in the tropics? Which strains grow well in tropical climates? I've never grown before so any advice at all would be appreciated, if there's anything i'd have to look out for please let me know. Thanks in advance

Hi , I have just planted 16 hydro seeds in a half top soil half compost mixture in 16 separate pots. Also I only have miracle grow as a fert at the moment and potash for bloom. So my question is can I use my friends hydro light to increase growth the rate in the early stages of the cycle? As in keep them out all day in the sun then put them under the light for a period of time at night. I do realize I assume I have the seasons all wrong as we are in winter at the moment and Iam trying to grow ...... I am also buying a PH kit tomorrow and would like your opinions on the right levels. PS I am in North Queensland Reguards hoop .

Hey Guys, Well I introduced you to my experiments in water-cloning with this thread. I have continued my experimentation and have refined the process down to an easy to follow, quick procedure. People using this technique will find much faster rootings and far lower failure rates than with "normal" cloning methods such as rockwool/cloning-gel/direct-to-medium techniques. The essential concept is that the inital formation of roots in rockwool clones tends to take the longest time out of each stage of the process, wouldn't it be nice to be able to have those "micro-roots" come out almost instantaneously so your clone has approximately a 7-10 day headstart?
