General Cultivation Q&A

It has become apparent from reading all the advice in the forum that I need a TDS / EC meter. I've done a bit of looking and I can get a cheap one from Hong Kong for about $35 - would this do the trick or too cheap and nasty? I note that the hydro store where I usually purchase stuff from has meters that are $70 to $130 although I'd like not to spend that much if I can avoid it. Things have changed a lot since I used to grow in the 90s - I didn't even know to check ph then let alone EC and TDS!

Hi guys, My apploigies if this is already posted somewhere but I couldnt find it with the search engine and Im runing short on time. I accidently dropped too many seeds into a cup of water when germinating, there are 2 too many and they have been in there for about 6hrs. So my question is, if they havent cracked yet and are still floating is it possible to dry them out and put them in the fridge again or have they more than likely broken domancy and if I dry them out they will die? I really want to save them, they are my last ones and I dont have the room for them. Thank you!

What temp should my tent be, off & on ? It's currently on 12/12. When it's off, should I have air intake fan off as well as circ fan ? My current temp of tent when on is 30-33 c Please help

Hi, I have been an occasional smoker since high school (once every few weeks / months), but a few years ago was diagnosed with crones.. I have always noticed how much pot helped practically every problem associated with crones but due to age / social stigma, ignored it and continued with meds (that did very little most the time)... Sadly I had a few flair ups lately and access to pot... Its almost scary how quickly I noticed the pain and problems associated with crones reduce (literally, it was like I felt the pain going as the smoke was inhaled... unbelievable imo) I am really interested in growing my own, but I have no idea what the best seed would be for NSW, Aus…

Hi guys well im doing autos this year. Dutch passions "Think Differrent" 250g Expected in just 9 weeks apparantly but we will see about that. Now all ive been doing for years and years is straight coco and perlite mix outdoor and mixing my a+b canna nutes and thats it! adding the PK and flower and there you have it. Whats a good base potting mix to use? Ive been told searles potting mix is good. I can accuqire some chicken shit, and horse shit and real fish aswell. I plan to make my soil this week ready for summer, Mix it all together in a big tarp and let it sit in big garbage bins ready to shovel into my 50 litre pots when summer comes. So . 1. Quik question to all, What is the oldest seed u have got to start/ grow ????? (why i ask is, I found my old seed collection from the 80s- 90s. ( I got 8 seedlings to start from seeds labled 1992. see skunk picts in my album)

To start hi again after so long away... any way to the point .. i have had 8 seeds (dated 1992 and labled skunk on the bag out of my seed bank, u ask why use seeds so old ?? , after some old genitcs ) i started 26th july .. 3weeks veg (under very low fluro light but they took off ???), then into flower room ( 12th sept ).. Well all good , all took well. Run usual cycle of 12/12 ..(as 2 in there are at 4 week 12/12). So now the problem, it has been it has been 3 weeks of 12/12 cycle and no signs of sex ??? Has anyone used the product called U-Turn . It's suppose to make your plant stop growing up so you don't have to tip it so you can have a busier plant & still have a crown bud. Sounds promising

Hey guys I just moved to brisbane a few weeks back, on our house warming the chop got spilt off the table and went everywhere yesterday I found two seedlings growing in the cracks of the pavers I managed to save one but lost the other, I planted it straight into a decent sized plastic cup, with drainage holes, with soil out of the garden and glad wrap over the top, iv had it in the sun all morning and put it in the shade around 1pm everything seems to be going fine just wondering the steps from here, would like to keep it outside preferably but still want decent fruit from her. Any advice would be appreciated cheers
