cannabis microprop

has anyone tried microprop with canna? been reading up on it a bit recently, seems really interesting, tho technical and requiring a whole lot of exy lab gear.

It's been done, but what's the benefit to growers like ourselves? You can clone a plant easily and cheaply anyway. Plant culture is better used for removing viruses or for mass propagation on a commercial scale, like is done for strawberries. For a home grower, it seems like a waste of time and money to me.

Have to use some seriously nasty chems unfortunately.

2,4D is essentially what was used in Agent Orange IIRC and if a hormone essential in tissue culture.

Personally, I don't want that kind of poison anywhere near me, let alone in plants I'm going to smoke!

Phil, to put it simply... that's bull. 

 

Tissue culturing is best saved for plants that wont propagate easily from cuttings or seeds.

It was used in Agent Orange.

It is used in tissue culture and is very commonly used at that.

It's a nasty chemical, which personally I wouldn't want near me.

The bull bit is that you need to use 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D). You don't. You can replace it as an auxin source completely with naphthaleneaceic acid.
