Has anybody here tried growing under HPS for a 12/12 lighting schedule from seed? I was reading on another forum that this guy has had really great results from the 12/12 lighting right from the start, and I was thinking that this might work particularly well if paired with HPS for the entire period (ie. instead of using MH for veg and switching to HPS for flower). The reasoning for why this might be a good choice for indoor growers is the following: Growing indoors often involves a height/size restriction, and you might want to keep the plants short, particularly for SOG and other techniques. I suspect that the short lighting schedule would mean shorter plants due to …

Hey Peeps, I hope I am in the right place for posting this but here goes nothing. I am wanting to grow a "Mother Plant" so that I can have a steady supply of clones. The first thing I would like to know is what is the minimum amount of light required to keep just the one plant alive and in a vegitive state. I was thinking of something along the lines of a "Compact Fluro" ??? The next thing would be it is neccesary to grow a "Mother" I am struggling allot with this part, some people say you do not need to keep the original mother while others say you do. For exmaple: I have heard and read that you grow a Mother that is female that way every cutting you take from …

Heya all need some input and answers. what happens when a plant outgrows it's pot size? will it will pretty much be stunted and stay the same size? can you use that to your advantage in some ways? my idea instead of 1 plant in a 40cm pot within my 40x40 cupboard, i can fit 4 plants each in 20cm pots. is there any pro's / con's by doing this? the plant won't vegetate as much after the roots fill up the pots, but how will this affect flowering? ... i want to utilise the space in my cupboard better.

Hi all. I'm only a light user, approx 2oz a year. Used to grow in the backyard but neighbours are getting nosey. Is a small grow box a solution. Something that would fit under a workbench in the garage to give me a couple of oz. Concerns I have is: Smell Catching on fire Setting up (ie size of lamps, type of lamps) Nothing complicated. Just a timer and hand watering. Any suggestions would be great.

Hi all, I am due for my next order of beans. So I want to try a purple this time around. But all the purple I have seen need low temps to give it a true nice colour. Has any one tried a purple that doesn't need the cold temp to change. As our winters up her are mild compared to what the say they need to get the purple colour.

Hi, You're gonna have to forgive me if this is the wrong forum for this topic.. Please let me know ! I am attaching some pics of some plants a mate of my sons has started he is, like me New to this Growing (as opposed to Using He found out that I was terminal and looking to find a Good Pain Relief Smoke, so he got hold of some seeds and here he (we) are. ALL of them were put in the seed raising mix at the exact same time, yet some seem stunted/small, some are 'tween 3-5 " in height others 1-1.5"... (??) They are 3 weeks old at the moment. The seeds were gathered from some friend of his and he was told they could be up to 3-4 years old.. If anyone can offer advice fro…

Hi all. This is my first post. I hope I've put it in the right place and that it's appropriate content. I just wanted to report an excellent experience that I had with the wonderful folk at Herbie's Head Shop. I bought a small amount of seeds from them (with a few freebies thrown in). There are two things that I want to emphasize about my experience with them. Great customer service, and when my first package was seized by customs (arseholes...) I notified them and they immediately sent an identical replacement package, which arrived a few days later. The first package used 'stealth packaging', selected via their web order form. The second package did not use steal…
