The NSW Government has released details about a new cannabis treatment clinic to be opened in Orange within months. The centre will service 200 face-to-face clients every year. The Government expects that most of the people accessing the centre will be heavy, problematic cannabis users, but there will also be programs for parents whose young children use the drug. The Special Minister of State, John Della Bosca, says the community will be consulted before a venue for the clinic is finalised. "The treatment centre is likely to be operating prior to July this year, so in the...next couple of months the centre should be fully operational," he said. Mr Della Bosca s…

Police raided Mr Pyle's home before dawn on Sunday morning, and allegedly found 1.8g of hashish kept in a plastic bag, a small bottle and a condom box. Police say the web designer has admitted his guilt and faces up to 10 years in prison, and a fine of 500,000,000 rupiah ($68,122). Mr Pyle told The Australian…

The legal downgrading of cannabis should not be reversed, Britain's most senior policeman said yesterday. Sir Ian Blair, the Comissioner of the Metropolitan Police, added that if the Government re-classified cannabis from a class C to a class B drug - reversing the change made last year - his force would "lobby fiercely" for the offence to be dealt with by the issuing of fixed penalty notices, rather than arrests and prosecutions. Sir Ian Blair, Comissioner of the Metropolitan Police His comments come after the Prime Minister and the Home Secretary, Charles Clarke, indicated that the Government may be having second thoughts about the downgrading of cannabis, one of t…

The Nimbin Hemp Embassy organisers of the annual MardiGrass Cannabis Law Reform weekend say it was probably the biggest crowd ever though nobody was counting! "The rubbish skips were all full by Sunday morning which has never happened before and that's a fair indication." Schapelle Corby's influence was everywhere over the weekend, yellow ribbons, theatre in the rally, banners, and quite possibly one of the reasons for such a big turnout in the rally. "She and the Bali nine have certainly put the war on drugs back on the agenda and I have no doubt the majority of Australians are ready for cannabis law reform. It's no big deal, especially for the new generations who are …

POLICE sniffer dogs in Victoria have lost their ability to trace drugs after a batch of cocaine used to train them was apparently switched for talcum powder. The switch was discovered during routine tests in the past fortnight when the dogs ignored bundles of cocaine, but showed unusual prowess in tracking baby powder. Three separate corruption investigations have been launched to find out what happened to cocaine supplied by the Australian Federal Police to train the sniffer dogs. Victorian police internal affairs sources said it was likely the drugs were switched after coming to Victoria, although it was possible the cocaine was simply incorrectly identified by the …

Geocities: The Digital Genesis
In the bustling digital streets of the late '90s, Yahoo Geocities stood out as a haven for burgeoning online communities. It was here, amidst this digital renaissance, that OZ Stoners planted its foundational roots. This marked the dawn of a space that would go on to become synonymous with Australian cannabis culture.
Navigating the Digital Tempests
On its journey, OZ Stoners faced formidable challenges. Between Yahoo's unpredictability and the unexpected anti-cannabis stance of titans like Meta, steering the ship required a blend of adaptability, tenacity, and foresight.
A Hiatus and the Phoenix's Ascent
Come 2022, OZ Stoners entered a period of unplanned dormancy, lasting a challenging 12 months. But, reminiscent of the legendary phoenix, this hiatus was transformed into an opportunity for rebirth. The platform underwent comprehensive upgrades, server enhancements, and a revitalising overhaul. As it emerged, it did so with a phoenix-like rise, soaring higher and brighter, dedicated to serving the community with even more zeal and purpose.
Ode to the Trailblazers
The tapestry of OZ Stoners is woven with the dedication and vision of its founding members. Their relentless drive and contributions have been the bedrock of its success. While many of these pioneers continue to shape its direction, we pause to honor those trailblazers we've lost over time. Their indomitable spirit continues to inspire and resonate within the cannabis community. - Memorial Hall
The Lighthouse of Today and Promise of Tomorrow
