micmac
So vermiculite has no applications in canna?Strange , some grows need some sort of water retention as well as extra aerationYes vermiculite does have a slightly less ability to hold air ,but has a greater ability to hold waterBut to say it has no aeration at all is wrong It all depends on what you are doing and where you are doing it Posted from the OZ Stoners mobile app
420bushboss
Only in bush grow I'd say where you can only water a plant maybe once every month and a bit.So vermiculite has no applications in canna?Strange , some grows need some sort of water retention as well as extra aerationYes vermiculite does have a slightly less ability to hold air ,but has a greater ability to hold waterBut to say it has no aeration at all is wrong It all depends on what you are doing and where you are doing it Posted from the OZ Stoners mobile appPosted from the OZ Stoners mobile app
MongyMan
Only in bush grow I'd say where you can only water a plant maybe once every month and a bit.Posted from the OZ Stoners mobile appI'd be looking at water crystals then not perlite or vermiculite.
Frank Reynolds
I haven't used water crystals extensively, but I have read they can actually pull water away from roots and hold onto it too tightly during extreme drought periods, experienced that mongy?
micmac
I've used vermiculite when growing in the BushNever had a problem with over or under wateringProbably saved them a few times during extended hot periodsThe only time I've really had problems outdoors is when it won't stop raining, as it did a few yrs backDoesn't matter what u use then I've used vermiculite with and without perlite at different times depending on what I had on handUsing coco as my main base mediumI've used perlite and vermiculite only as well 80% perlite 20% vermiculite, for me this was better than using straight perlite Worm castings and coco ,I've tried but not had that much successGetting the right mix of castings and coco was the problem I didn't bother to try get it right because there were so many other options available for indoor growing and I was having reasonable successes there Posted from the OZ Stoners mobile app
