ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL equivalent in OZ?

Hey all,

 

I'm thinking of making my own batch of cannabis oil. I've extensively watched alot of videos on youtube on how to do it, especially Rick Simpsons video's.

 

Now I'm looking for a suitable solvent similar thats readily availble in and around Sydney. I've looked at Methylated spirits (which has ethanol in it and some other small additives to stop people from drinking it...) and i've come across ISOCOL (which has isopropyl alcohol, water , AND fragrance.) Given this, i think ISOCOL would be the more suitable pick as it's closest to the US equivalent. But my question is, is this is a safe option? since it isnt 100% alcohol and has fragrance added to it. Will the heating process remove the fragrance?

 

Does anyone know if this is a suitable option? If not, what other options are available for us Aussie blokes to use as a solvent.

Ya got to wonder why people keep voting for there own enslavement, you can almost do what you want, as long as you pay the stnuc for the privilege

Yeah I think I'll go with a still and go with the Rick Simpson method. Found a vendor in Sydney near my joint that sells the rubbing alki. Gathering the rest of the equipment is a cinch, my only problem is finding a place to do it safely with discretion. ( can't do it at home)

thanks , i've had a look at it , i know bugga all bout distilling 

 

how much does it cost you per sugar wash for ingredients & what's the pure alcohol yield ?

 

i watched a youtube vid , looks like he makes up 30lt of sugar wash & yields about 10% 3lts

of pure alcohol , that sound about right ?

I’m off to jaycar tomorrow, this time tomorrow night I’ll have some oil or I’ll have a couple of problems

Gonna use the rice cooker while chimoen at work

Save me looking it up , do u mull the weed and should it be extra dry or normal ready to smoke

I like to chop it up, but purists reckon leave the buds whole. I also just wash it for a few seconds. I find a long soak increases yield but decreases quality. Usually I let it evaporate over a week or so, but if in a hurry i use a hot water bath.
