What's better suited to Canna?

 

Dunno for sure, but I think I've heard 3500K bantered around a bit.

5000K up is more ya summer direct sunlight which is great for veg growth, but then you'd want a lower temp come flowering, which is more suited to 3500K and under.

Ahh OK.  Bit of a decision to make then.

 

Not that you can use it as a direct comparison. As you probably know though, HPS is better suited all round compared the MH.

Coz I'm indoors, maybe vegging isn't as important as a good flowering light though? I mean growth is good, but excessive height? Decisions, decision....

Nah mate went to bed and have been up picking grapes all morning. Kinda wish more people gave an opinion to help coz in the end it's just gonna be personal preference. I'm thinking just sticking with one temp. 3500 or 4000K

 

I did have a bit of a design think last night though. Originally just gonna make a rectangle out of aluminium U channel and run the strips in line but thought maybe it would be cool to do a scissor sort of design to allow extending and retracting...? Might be getting too far ahead of myself
