Bogan's backyard!

Recommended Posts

yep you can def plant alfalfa as a cover crop

many use just the one seed like crimson clover or buck wheat

this is a vegge bed that i've fallen behind on , that's a winter cover crop / green manure

should have been chopped & dropped by now & had some compost added to the top & straw on top of that

not all that green is going to fit in that bed with the other layers , so i'll chop it up & use on other pots/beds round the garden

i also keep adding bits & bobs from the garden to a open bucket to dry them out , just keep giving the bucket a mix

handy if your running out of room at the top of the pot , drying removes the moisture a bit & makes it smaller size but keeps most the goodies

post-50689-0-63704800-1507339639_thumb.jpg some of the taller tops have been chopped already

there beans radish lucerne/alfalfa soy lettuce & a bunch of other stuff you & i see everywhere & say there weeds

i think mother nature has a good reason for these plants we call weeds to turn up & grow on bare soil

consider diversity

never get these pics to load right , bugger
