Hermie problem

My Deadhead OG has started to show some male pods. Its about 30 days into bud cycle. what should i do? Any advice most welcomed.

That sucks.

If it is a lone plant you could pick off the male bits, still likely to get some seeds.It is very easy to miss some on large plants.

If it is in with other plants, bite the bullet and rip it out. 

Why risk seeding your other plants and wrecking months of work. You can always process it into something smokable.

SInce you've found multiple pods already its safe to assume more will follow.  I'd give it the chop before it spreads any pollen around and kill off any cuttings that you've taken of it too.  It's never going to be mature enough to be a decent smoke before it drops the pollen so you should just kill it now before it can cause any harm

I feel for you man, I have just come across some balls myself..

 

I thought I would try just pick off the male balls as most seemed to be female but after having a good look for them, and some 50 male balls later I have given up on that idea.

 

I am now plucking up the courage to murder it...

It sucks as the resin coating is magnificent. It started its resin production at around 2-3 weeks. Its siting in a tent with a kosher kush & two pineapple chunk. I do have clones but I must be responsible for the hermie situation as I like to rotate my plants and on 1 of these occasions i forgot to connect 1 of the hoses and i had 60 litres of nutrients and water all over the floor. I had to try and dry the floor and in this time they were there left in simi darkness for about 2-3 day before i started back up like usual. What a gigantic mistake as I had just made a new batch of nuitrients for my reservoir.

I've given plants a lot of abuse over the years but a few days of darkness has honestly been about the least worst long term thing I've done to them.  The plants just look sad, get a bit stretchy and become very sensitive to the light once its back on.  I've never seen a hermie pop up but thats not to say it isn't possible especially if the plant as already a little hermie prone.  Was it from feminized seed by any chance?  They can be especially bad at taking a bit of stress

 

As someone who hand waters yet flooded the floor without having any running water to the grow room at the time I've become quite good at cleaning up spills   Get yourself a big fluffy towl and hang it somewhere in the grow room.  I have mine hanging as a curtain to block light out next to my sink which is good for drying my hands and perfectly positioned to rip down should the floor start flooding.  A good towel will soak up a few hundred mL of water in 10-15 seconds so you can really soak a huge mess up in no time at all

I ended up not ripping her out. i did a search and destroy mission for 2 days pulled off what i could see. Its been growing great. Doesn't seemed to have pollinated my other plants thank fuck. Its been 50 days but hopefull the buds will be atleast 98% seedless. I'll try & take some pics. The good thing is i'll have some filth BHO for my birrhday.

yep, not the good ones out of the linen cupboard... all my good towels smell now but shit they worked well
