co2 enrichment methods

I was wondering what people are doing to enrich there grow area without the use of co2 bottles. I've read about using yeast with warm water.

I tried that Kapow, seemed to work a lil in a small tent, but nothing substantial. Think using the correct wattage for your area size and good food, and taking care of pests does more for yield on the cheap CO2 end. I think my yeast CO2 bottles attracted more gnats than anything else.....

 

CO2 is mostly used when you have more light than the plants can use, so they need to be supplimented CO2 to take full advantage of the extra light.

It can be very beneficial in those circumstances, without enough light, be a waste of time.

Thanks nibbler. I'm running 2 x 600 watt HPS Lights in a 1.2 x 1.2 x 2 metres tent. Is that too much for my tent.

Yeah its a TAD overkill, could get away with 1 x 600wer in that tent, and get good results. Usual rule of thumb... 1m x 1m = 400w , 1.2m x 1.2m = 600w , 1.4m x 1.4m = 1000w .

You can run the two 600's in the 1.2m tent of yours, hope ya got cooltubes though........ hehe. Or maybe in winter ya might be fine.

 

More light is better, but it does get to a point where CO2 is the only way to really optimize its use. Cannaversity Light Calculator used to tell you at what point CO2 was needed.

Yeah sure am using cooltubes. Still need a/c pumping. Been getting good trichomes on the buds but no real density. Well that's till I started to bud 1-3 of my pineapple chunk plants. My pineapple kush has heaps of trichomes but no real density & smells nothing like pineaples, quite pungent.

Well mate if ya running aircon, shutdown one light and your aircon, otherwise it will cost you an arm and a leg in power. That be my advice, 600wer is heaps enuff and because you have no CO2 the plants arent using the extra very well anyway.

 

Pineapple Chunk, has a strange smell, gets better towards the end of flower, but Its a cross of Cheese (origanally SK#1) , and that has a pungent smell. The Hawaiian Sat in it is the Pineapple.

Hold on  because in the last 3 weeks it will go ballistic.

Yeah had a huge electricity bill of $1360, but it was my pineapple kush that smells pungent. The pineapple chunk smells so sweet that it smells like candy. Is that a common smell for the pineapple chunk.

Co2 enrichment if used properly will send your humidity through the roof and this is a good indication that is it at the high enough levels to be effective.. make sure fans are not running when using the Co2 as this would make the point of having it running at that time a waste

Yeah has a sweet pineapple sorta smell that gets a bit more pungent later in flower, does make ya mouth water though......... nom, nom, nom...... smokin some now.... Nibbler

Yeah I can't wait for mine. today is the first day of it's 5th week of buding. The pc buds are the hardest I've ever grown. They're compact from the start. How long is the bud cycle for pc's. Did yours take 56 days(8 weeks) or 63 days(9 weeks) or do they need longer.
