Aliens Vs Predator is actually quite a well realised and large comic and novel universe. Pretty good series, although I only read a few when I was younger. Aliens were bred and seeded onto planets by the Predators, (or "hunters" as they know themselves) as sport. They allow the aliens to infect and take over a planet before a free for all competition between the hunters. The alien is considered the most dangerous of all prey.
