Vaporite HYPER vaporizer REVIEW!

Recommended Posts

Heh. Wow. I've been looking at buying a Hyper, but I'm not too sure what to make of all this. Seems a little fishy that SO MANY people signed on as a first time poster just for the explicit purpose of posting in this thread. Having said that, that's pretty much what I'm doing. Only difference here is that I haven't bought it yet. I was thinking of it, but now I'm not too sure. It just seems a little fishy, is all.

I'm writing this section after having written this: whilst making the review I vaped up, so in true green style the following report is somewhat fragmented ;)

OK so I like many others have signed up specifically for this thread.

When I was looking at buying a vape 2 months ago I did alot of googling to find info and reviews on various vapes, which is how I found this page, if you search 'vaporite review' it comes up as the first post - hence why there are so many first posts in this thread.

Anyway, I was originally thinking of a volcano but the price tag is pretty serious. I'm glad I went this way as it meets my requirements fine.

So where was I.. Ok firstly I bought my vaporite from Walter at CTH; http://www.cheatingthehangman.net.au/hyper.html almost exactly 2 months ago. Reasonably priced, fast delivery.

How long does it take to heat up?

Well its right next to me, I'm going to time it right now. Its about 21 degrees C here today just FYI and I have my vape set to 360 degrees F / 182 C

Answer:

Test 1: 4 minutes, 54 seconds

Test 2: 5 minutes, 5 seconds

Once it reaches the desired temp it beeps to let you know its 420 time :toke: You then start to pull casually but continually, you can stop when the fan stops (about 20 degrees F lower than your set temp) or keep going at a lower temp - but you generally start inhaling slower but for longer pulls at lower temps so you have to juggle technique a bit. I recommend keeping going at least when you're new at it - because you'll get an idea of what temps are best for you and your material. Even having it for 2 months I'm still learning the best way to enjoy it.

The grinder that comes with it is fantastic, break up your material with your fingers, put it into the grinder, turn for 20 seconds and it'll be a perfect consistantly for vaping. The magnetic nature of the grinder helps prevent spilling it - very convenient.

The effect; Its hard to filter through all the BS of what people say is different about vaping and although it may just be personal, I feel that when vaping you dont get 'stoned', instead you get 'high' which I seriously prefer as I dont like being a zombie staring at the wall for 4 hours lol As others have hinted at, its a clearer high - you can function alot more if you try, which allows you to harness some of the creativity.

Health: No more nasty burning smoke, and no need to put bacci/something in to help it burn. I dont smoke cigs and dislike the nastyness of smoking so its great to avoid all of that. You'll never want to bong again because of that alone, imo.

Odour: Not much odour, so you can smoke it inside without almost any smell. Nice ;)

The Vaporite unit;

Its stealth, no one sees it as distinct, especially on top of a computer - most people think its an amp. Just put a volume sticker over 'hot' and no one will know ;)

The build quality and finish is good for the most part, although my temp knob doesn't stay on and its been like that from new. But it doesn't matter as its still fine to use and once you set it on your desired temp you never have to touch it again. And even without the knob you can still turn it.

Zero maintenance so far, unit doesn't get dirty. The glass whip will get slightly grundgy over time from the buildup of kief falling through the screen, but you can wash the whip pretty easily. Although I've only done it once, since I'm on my third glass whip due to stupidity, a table and tiles. The whip will come out of the unit if you're not careful. Hard surface and smash. Ideally, some sort of knotch in the unit so you put it in and turn to lock would be great. I'm going to try putting a little grip mat in front of the unit which may help when unco'ness occurs.

Good unit, I would and have recommended both the vaporite hyper and the seller I got it from ( http://www.cheatingthehangman.net.au/hyper.html ). Have bought an additional grinder ($12) and 2 replacement whips which are not too expensive considering its delivered ($20 each, but the option of a bulk pack would be sweet). Not associated with the place, just pleased with the product and service.

i've just ordered one of these! i'm getting my wisdoms out next week, and the thought of being in pain at home, last week before uni was killing me. so i kind of entertained the idea of buying one, came across an article about cheating the hangman, and purchased right away. dead pleased with my decision. now i just hope it'll arrive pretty quickly. my friends are already gathering their pennys for their own.

i'm planning to use mine for some of the happy herbs too while i'm studying, i usually find them pretty unbearable to smoke.

Well, I'll throw my 2c in seeing the thread's still going.

I also have a hyper. Had it for a few months now with no problems at all. Does the trick well.

These aren't anywhere near the build quality of a volcano or da buddha etc. They're a cheap Chinese product. I've been told here and elsewhere that they cost about $30 from the manufacturer to import.

The unit needs to be burned in to get rid of initial plastic smells. It says this in the instructions. Don't vape directly from new.

These aren't a high-end product, but neither is their pricing. I'd say it's a low-to-mid-range product, and would recommend it for a first vape and perhaps not for heavy use. It's a step up from a soldering iron jobbie, and a step down from a professional qality vape. But that's pretty much what I'd expect at this price point.

Service from CTH has been great. Will update if I find I need to have the product serviced or replaced.

I vape @ 190c and then turn it up in 10c increments until 210c. At that point, it starts to get its popcorn taste and I know I'm done. I'd not be surprised if the temp readings weren't particularly accurate, but it's just a mix of trial, error and taste to find the right temp range.

I'll go for a more expensive but better unit next time, but am pretty happy with the hyper. If I get a year and a bit out of it, will be happy.

EDIT: This is presently my daily-use vape, so it does get a bit of a work out.

Plastic taste smell???

Don't bother with the 'cheapies' go all out and spend some $$$$$

You won't be sorry.

I own an Aromed.

I dont have any issues with a plastic smell, except for for brand new whips - its just from the food grade tube used. Goes away very quick.

just ordered a new whip for my hyper, its a decent machine, a little overpriced imo but thats just how the market is when ur catering to 'criminals' heh.. i have had a few problems with it in the past where it wouldnt turn on (faulty wiring) but its been working ever since, no doubt the problem will repeat itself with time imo.

i broke my bong today and i thought instead of buying a really nice one, i'll just start saving for a volcano and just use my hyper until i can afford one. :D

p.s. i might be moving in with some mates who are vocalists in a few months and they want a decent vape also so i might just wait and split the costs 3 ways ;)

Strange My HYPER stopped working after a few weeks also, i sent it back and they returned me with the digital NANO.

I also found that the knob on the hyper was too-touch sensitive and would jump up and down a fair bit.

P.S do you attatch your whip into your bong? in my mind its the only way to go, much more satisfying and you dont get little hot rocks in your mouth
