Just wondering if you could tell me if it is too soon to clone these. The inter-nodal space is quite tight.

while you could take a cutting now, imo you'd be better off waiting like 4-7 days before taking the cuttings. you need to trim down a node, well you dont have to but it helps, when taking cuttings so if you were to take the cuttings now you'd be left with bugger all on the plants they came from

Are they about the right size for 4-5 weeks from first errupting?

mate probably about right for growing under fluro's, but exactly what he said i'd wait till those new shoots are big enough to use for your clones. it is under fluro's isnt it sorry if i'm wrong but am too trashed to go and have a look .

Yes my smashed friend, it is under flouros, or flouro to be more precise.

 

Flouros were chosen for this compact grow for a few reasons.

 

1) Heat - or lack of it, so you can place them strategically and use more in a small place.

2) Relative cheapness - additions and replacements are gradual.

3) Power usage.

 

I figure that 4 200w envirolights placed over and between 2 -3 plants can do the job of a 400w HPS

 

As we'll be training for compactness we'll be pinching out so I think the cutting needs to be turned into a clone.

before cloning from a clone

just something i was taught early in me apprenticeship

fluoros suck man

the lught is pretty week

and doesnt promote lateral growth

i used to vege under fluoro

then i got me 400w up

and difference in growth and laterals is amazing

for fluros they are decently sized for their age, but billo is right about those bastard lights. all the do is promote new growth on the main cola with very little side branching and the light is extremely weak unless the plant is pretty much touching the globe

But having said that WDC, personally I think that CFL's (and fluros in general) are more than suitable for someone who is only seeking a lil personal grow for a lil personal smoke, like me!

 

From what I have read, HPS, etc lights ARE great for growing, but I haven't been having much problem with growth in any direction at all. I'm going great guns do far.

 

I've been watching this thread because I am trying to soak up as much info as I can about cloning. Hope to try my hand at it soon too.

 

Your plants are looking quite nice and healthy from my seat FFC. Best of luck with it all!
