As topic title says. I'm trying to find out the best power deal/company. Because I feel that I shouldn't pay $$ when bla bla company can save me $. I would be doing most of my power use at night. So if you could kindly tell me what you pay per k/w and name of company you would be helping everyone that lives in the Brisbane area save money thank you.

Have looked at a few seed sites for answer with no luck. When they say its short, medium, tall is there a guide to know in cm's how tall it will be in 12/12 cycle? As I plan to build custom room for my un human baby's. That's if they arrive but still need to save $$ be for hand. Have read about pinching the tops of them but would like them to grow with out that. So I've still got time to refine my plan. Forgot to say I plan to low stress train them.

Hi All, I'm a complete novice when it comes to all of this. 12 years of chronic pain and a charming (but unrelated) medical diagnonsense saw me turn to green about a decade ago and I haven't looked back - it's probably what has kept me alive. Anyway, my regular supplier went out of business recently (without any notice ) so I'm trying my hand at growing for the first time. I've had a LOT of very confusing conversations with a variety of people (Bunnings, hydro stores, even Kmart!) with silly codewords about how I'm growing tomatoes or herbs. I've managed to get most of it sorted - I think - and have recently planted a seed. I'm using coco coir with perlite mixed i…

Hi Guys, here are some pics of a new set up I have been playing with. I have been using hand watered coco in pots for about 18months and finally decided to upgrade to automated. I have some questions regarding the setup I'm hoping someone can help with. Hopefully you can see from the pics above, this system is basically a frame and baskets above a long res, with water pumped up into the baskets and flowing back down into the res. I will be using clay balls as a medium. So I have got some advice from a good mate who also grows, also with a recirc system in clay balls, and from the mate I purchased this set up from, but both lots of advice about feeding cycles seem to c…

HI everyone, I would like to raise a healthy debate around feeding schedules. I have come accross so many differing opinons over the years. Myself I have changed it up many times and just when I think ive nailed it I try something else (unfortunately I am the kind of person that just cant leave shit be , always looking for improvement). I am interested what others do and with each different type of medium. I am currently using Coco with a little Perlite mixed in and doing 3 x 1 min feeds during lights on and currently trialling doing a 1 min feed in lights off. I also do a flush every ten days and dont feed the day after flush. I have been trying a few diffreant …

Hi all.... I've always had good results (good for my standards anyway ) without using any additives in my res, but am starting to wonder what people are using?

Ill use this thread later to get links which Ill be adding when I find them. I will make a computer-controlled growroom sometime so need rare components like sensors and controllers. Ive forgotten what I know about micro-electronics but its pretty easy once you get the hang of it. If you need information about how to build a environmental control unit then you might find information via http://www.beyondlogic.org/ and http://www.google.com for now. My first link is; Honeywell Sensors - for temperature, humidity and current sensors and information - they dont seem to have any PH sensors or probes so I have to keep looking [most people want to sell a complete tester or…

Hey guys, i've been reading about growing for a year or so now and am ready to get growing. im thinking of growing 3-4 plants in a 4x4 tent with a 600w mh/hps light. im looking at the blue lab ph pen and ppm trencheon and thinking about running general hydroponics nurients as ive never mixed nutrients or fed plants before it seems straight forward. DWC buckets with good air pump and stones also wanting a 4ft 6bulb t5 i was just wondering if yous could help me out with a few questions ive got, firstly id like to know how qld growers go with hydroponics in such high humidity?(this is one of my main concerns about growing, pest and disease proplems) . wheres a good hydropo…

Hi Guys I've been doing some reading on cultivation times in grow tents: ie. from seedling to harvest. Some people say 18 weeks, others 15, and then there's even mention of 10-12 weeks (...!?!?!?) to grow from a seedling to a harvestable plant...! Is that possible? Does anyone have any experience/info on their fastest grow using a grow tent? What's average? What's slow? etc, etc. I'm using 600w lighting, and self watering thru the base. Thanks

Hi All, I have been readying up on Co2 systems, I have read a lot of good stuff about it. However cant really find much on the bad about it. Apart from the cost of buying the bottels, and the set up cost. I have one for grow in my room untill I move to a fully sealed ( aka insalated shipping containter). So the use of Co2 is looking like a must, just to keep the work of cutting heaps of holes in my new room down and also water tight. So I ask, has any one used them or are using them, does the cost weigh up. I have read with the right temp and hum in your room you can get 2 - 3 times more yeild, which would help with the cost of runing the room and the Co2. Also I like…

Hi all, This may sound pretty noob but just wondering do you guys bother with this and besides expensive filters whats the best way of doing it in the past i've normally just leave the water in an open bucket for a day then add nutes after and away she goes, but there isn't much i can find on this subject most people just say to use purified or filtered water but i'm on a buget here. Kind regards Michael

Being out of the game for far too long, I would love some advice and opinions on a DWC setup in the coming warmer months in Australia. From my basic research, the DWC setup looks wonderful. Minimal interaction, all in one type of setup. However, getting stuck into the details I have noticed that the nutrient temp is a big factor in how well the roots survive. My main question now knowing this is... In reality, how sustainable is a DWC system going to be as a long term option considering 1/3 of the year (without some kind of help) the water would sit well above the optimum temp needed for the plants to flourish? I don't want to spend a couple of hundred $ on some kind …

"Fermentation Baking soda/acid is a good system, but it is ultimately fairly expensive. Furthermore, you also release acetate ions/salts, as well as other volatiles from the vinegar (which is not a pure solution of acetic acid, of course). They prolly won't kill your plants, though they might. Instead they will likely make it smell or taste bad. What is a better way to get your carbon dioxide? Fermentation. Acquire some brewer's yeast if you can. The types of yeast you can use are in order of what is best, though all are acceptable: Champagne Wine Ale Beer Baker's Rig up a simple fermentation chamber with airlock. The airlock is designed to keep the atmosphere ana…

Well, here goes. This thread will be a description and discussion on setting up a simple, recirculating hydroponic growing setup, using expanded clay, designed for use in small scale growing, like in a cupboard. Of course, the system can be expanded on, if you should need to, but this is only a basic setup to get the average newbie to indoor mj cultivation going. Here's a list of what you'll need. This design is for a two plant system, and I won't discuss lighting here. 2 growing containers. - These can be made from nearly any plastic container with a minimum of 10L capacity for clones, or 20L minimum for seed plants. The plastic buckets used by bakeries for mar…
