Hi All, So.. after lots of reading I am thinking I am more confused I have my tent setup, I have a Veg\Flower light setup sorted. What I dont have figured out is CFL or Fluro light for kicking off the seeds. So reading showed 80W CFL is a good start, but the holder of such a bulb and the wiring in the reading sorted read dodgy. Fluro is ok - a smaller size however perhaps like this but not sure if it will cut it for 3 seeds to kick off? http://www.bunnings.com.au/light-fluoro-batten-crompton-1x60w-flex-plug-box-24407_p7076787 This is to just carry to seedling to the point of putting it under a HPS Ta in advance!

Hi all, I'm looking for a new ballast / lighting setup and noticed a few shops are now stocking the Hi-PAR ballasts. I can't find much info/ reviews about them. I'm more interested in the Hi-Par 315w LEC Digital Ballast (http://www.stealth-garden.com/product/lighting/hi-par-315w-l-e-c-ballast/) to go with the Phillips 315 CMH lamp. Is anyone using this setup? if so I would love to hear some feedback regarding it. Alternatively if you are using a similar ballast with this lamp or could recommend one, I would be interested in hearing about it to. Cheers.

hey all, ive got a brand new 400w nanolux ballast, was running it fine with a cheap lucagrow 400w hps, the bought a 400w Son t agro hps. it twinkles slightly. Its a replacement, because i thought the first one was dodgy aswel, but they both twinkle. I put the lucagrow back in and the twinkling stops. Anyone know what my issue is or if there is an issue with the nanolux running the son t agro? cheers

So i was browsing the 400w hps lamps on hydroexperts.com and found this bulb for $49. Now from everything I've read, solistec are supposed to be top notch in the lighting world. Check out the page for easy reference: http://www.hydroexperts.com.au/horticultural-lighting/lamp/240v-hps-lamp/ Heres the thing: There's a Super HPS 400w bulb, which is the cheapest on there and i think is the equivalent of a growlush quality bulb at $35..... Powerplant bulb for $60 Son-T at $59 Gavita enhanced $66 GE Lucagrow $70 And then the SolisTek HPS for only $50? I realize that this bulb is made for digital ballast in mind and this is why i thought it was cheaper at firs…

Hello OS community Being and old timer HID/HPS grower but new to LED technology, I have 2 x Mars 720 in an area 1x1.2m I have no issues with very vigorous growth (after a rocky start) Question is, is this over kill for this area? My initial thought was one for each room of 1x1.2m, after further research i found some people suggesting this would not be enough. So I put 2 in a single room WOW Love to hear anyone's thought on this Cheers

Hi everyone, ive been growing for a couple years now and have tryedd a few different growing methods and lights. when i was doing some research the other day i stumbled across a guy who has bought these lights called light emitting CERAMICS not diodes. apparenlty there super efficient at delivery of par radiation and a 315 w fixture always gets better yeilds than a 600 w HPS. i found a 630 w double for sale on ebay for 1.4k so there pretty dam expensive but i think it could be worth the investment after a few grows as the 630 watter claims to be able to produce anywere upto 1.5gpw. just looking for personal experiece if anyone has bought these and how they went. th…

Has anyone tried any of the CO2 Emitter like 'the green pad' and similar that are on the market. I've previously used the old sugar and yeast and looking for something a bit better and easier to use. Have seen some that last for eight months so they say, but others that last a few week? Hope someone can help out

So I've been looking at doing a small tent for one plant. Research has led me towards LEDs. Cheaper in the long run, less heat, and they just appeal to me more. So I looked at Growblu and some other non ebay/china full spectrum lights but eventually found my way to opticgrowlights.com and a51led.net. They seem to be super powerful LEDs and only use 1 (for a51led.net) and only 4 LEDs for opticgrowlights.com. From the description from opticgrowlights.com I'm basically sold. They seem amazing. I was looking specifically at, http://opticgrowlights.com/360-watt-cxa3070-led-grow-light.html for what is said to be the right sized requirements for a 1m x .6 x 1.5m tent Fro…

Hi dudes I have this grow closet constructed. Dimensions are 1.95m H x 0.93m W x 0.83m D I have put a 4" Ezi Air fan inlet at the bottom and 4" Ezi Air fan outlet at the top and also a bathroom extraction fan for more extraction but when I use a 400MH the temps can rise to 35C. Obviously the summer temps aren't helping with the grow box inlet and outlet being directed into the garage but what I need to know is: 1) Where should the light sit in the box? Should the hood be at the top of the box with the plant sitting on something higher then lower as the plant grows or should the plant be on the floor with the light being lower and raised as the plant grows? Wouldn't it b…

as the title suggests I need some help! And no not with someone to love (hmmm maybe some Beatles fans somewhere ) The facts: First time properly growing indoors , using soil under light (of course ), strain unknown as from bag seed ( fantastic seed laden bud, removed the seeds and the smoke was unbelievable so my thinking being that if it didn't have to expend its energy making seeds then the smoke should be even better? ) Makes sense to me Planted 8 seeds (seeds were over a year since being found and had been through multiple extreme temps.... Whether that would make any difference) 5 sprouted , one I just planted in the garden and it's only 2 inches high and unknown se…

Just thought I would let people know that the Philips 80w CFL has stopped production and no longer available. There is a 75w globe done by someone else but when I was looking around I couldn't find that particular one and found a local guy doing the 75w and "calling" it the Philips CFL globe.
