Was in bunnings today and i came across this stuff for 10 bucks a bottle: http://www.bunnings.com.au/eco-organic-garden-500ml-eco-flo-dolomite-concentrate_p3010209 Is this a possible substitute for the outrageously priced cal-mag from the hydro store? I realize the cal-mag from GH and the like is nitrate based and this isnt but alas, at only 10$ bucks, can it substitute? Much thanks for any help.

After my first shocking attempt with DWC ( hats of to those who use it). I'm going to try coco coir with 4 autos from Yantra under a Mars hydro 144x5. I have 1kg left of each maxi grow and bloom. I can't get perlite so was heading towards 100% coco. So can i use these nutes with coco or can some one recommend a good alternative. Cheers

Both of these girls are at 3 weeks 4 days since they sprouted out of the soil. Temp is 25-30C/40% humidity during light hours and 17C/65% during dark hours. A is a Mystery Seed B is Vision Seeds Super Skunk Auto Fem A seems to be growing a tad faster but has been light green her whole life. No yellowing or anything on any leaves. Just very light green. Both plants are at 6 sets of leaves with lots of undergrowth. I've only fed them Seasol so far since they were seedlings. I'm soil and prefer natural substances as nutrients. I want to start using a guano with the seasol. I found this guano spray on ebay that you spray on the leaves: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Platinum-…

Hey Guys, Under goiing my first grow and it seems to be going alright. Still early stages but what I want to know for future grows - Is how does Advanced Nutrients stack up against the stuff we can get here in Oz pretty easily (eg. Canna, GT, DutchMaster etc.)? Im currently growing hydroponically in clay mediums using a top fed recirculating system and will continue to do so for future grows. Peace

Hey, we have been hand watering and mixing H&G nutrients for a few months now when needed. we decided to make a 50lt rez where the nutes can be mixed and used over a week. there is a water pump in the black rez, no light leaks and the temp sits around 20 degrees being in a shaded area on concrete. just noticed after 3 days that the rez water is very cloudy. anyone know why this is? nutes used are: H&G Coco's A&B, Multizym, Growtek CalMag, Canna Rhizotonic and Flairform PH Down. If the rez water is cloudy, is it ok to use this water for feeding? I mixed another batch and watched as each nute was put in. looked like the Rhizotonic left a cloudy resi…

Ok so I've had some major problems growing indoors regarding fungus gnats and Pythium. I made the big mistake of having a compost bin outside that was moist and riddled with these bastards! Anyway I lost an entire crop due to them! After endless research I found that fungus gnats and more importantly Pythium do not like the friendly bacteria Bacillus Thuringiensis Israelensis. However this is not available (to my knowledge) in Australia. Bacillus Thuringiesis var. Kurstaki is available in Bunnings. I am experimenting with this product on the compost heap (I'll keep you all posted). Now that I have eliminated the fungus gnats from the grow room I want to add a preventative…

$14.95 for a 90L brick: -No added fert (preferable here) -Has not been pre-buffed (so you may want to buff it with cal / mg or something, though probably unnecessary if you are using a complete fertiliser.) -Takes about 15-30 to decompress, fast and easy process of spraying the brick with a hose, letting it soak for 1min and scrapping off an inch at a time, rinse, repeat. -Cheap and takes up much less space. Personally I don't see much point in paying 5x as much for Canna or H&G, that money is way better spent on more lighting or some seeds. Hope this might save y'all some money, don't be scared to try it and don't listen to hydro shop guys telling you to u…

Hi all I'm just about to start my first grow indoors under CFL lights and I was thinking about using the jiffy pots and pellets to start the seed off in and putting it into a 50/50 potting and perlite mix once its well established then just using seasol and some cheep veg and bloom nutrients from bunnings I am well aware that the plant will not reach its full genetic potential this way but I still should be able to grow a healthy plant this way? as this is my first grow and I'm a total newbie I don't want to go all out and realise that its not for me and be stuck with a shit load of gear. Can anyone with a lot more experience than me foresee any major problems with this. …
