I recently went and visited Mongy for a couple of weeks and the cacti conveniently started to flower. Here is a random assortment of some of those pics. Some pics are raw and unedited, some are insta edits. It'll be easy to see which is what. These two lil guys are my favourites. Flowering San Pedro I don't know what this is but the spines look groovy. Hudson Pear. A nasty bastard. An introduced pest. Red flowers and a funny looking cricket. Red flower prior to blooming. San Pedro flower close up. My fave fellas again. A few other random, non cactus related, pics I wanna share too. Decaying pig skull. One of a dozen space chickens. Outback decor.…

Greetings. I had the pleasure of trying San Pedro last week, was my first experience with cacti and mescaline for that matter. All in all I was very happy with the experience. The San Pedro trip was a lot friendlier than my past experiences with LSD and even mushies and although not massively visual in this experience, there was some pretty cool swirling and stuff on the curtains and a few experiences with the angles of the walls in rooms not looking quite right for want of a better description. There was some interesting thought processes going on though and to me, thats what made the trip. I decided in the depths of the trip after much thought about my hand that huma…

Hey guys. Last year my mate gave me a Bolivian Torch cactus pup to take care of. This was in about Autumn last year. It was about 6 inches tall. I left it in a dark, well ventilated space for a while, until it was calloused at the point it connected to the mother cacti. I then put it in a small pot and left it inside until summer (should have taken it outside in spring!) After a month it'd grown a bit and I gently wobbled it to test the roots. They were firm. Here is a pic circling the markings showing from where the new growth has grown. As you can see the pot is very small. I recently decided to fertilise it with some of Seasol's Powerfeed. It's expl…

So aside from our wonderful 'erb I have a real passion for rare cacti and other ethnobotanicals so I anticipate spending a bit of time in this forum, even if I am the only one posting . If anyone else shares my passion join me

I've had quite a few flowers on this before but I've never seen that pink stalk bit previously. It's developed after the flower, under the seed. Usually the seed just develops in the fluffy bit. Does anyone know anything about it?

Not big on experience with plant properties and their effects, nor very knowledgeable on plant selection or preparation. Past experiences have been mostly tabs of acid and psylocybe cubensis. Recently, I have found an interest in the hidden wonders of the plant world, both medicinal and spritual, but would like to build my knowledge before possibly preparing and ingesting anything that falls into the latter category. I have read a fair amount of literature on occultism, and understand the association between the two, but do not have much literature on psychedelic plants, other than a small collection on Mycology. Got any good suggestions on future additions to the librar…

HI I was hoping for some advice on my pedro. Now I consider myself a reasonably succesfull gardener, having really big healthy plants that are years old in my garden, Viridis, caapi, salvia just to name a few. all ornamental. I just love gardening special plants. Problem is I just can grow cacti? supposedly its the most basic plant but I am KILLING them??, My plants are 4 years old now but still only 500-700cm tall and 5-7cm thick. they are a light green colour. A year ago I had them in pots and got the jack of them and threw them in the garden. I havent really bothered with TLC for them since as I thought I may have been over loving them..you know... what does a plant th…

Hey all, I have recently went and purchased my first Cactus after many years of being lazy and saying I would do it. When I was choosing my cactus, I chose what I thought would need the most care. Whether it looked un healthy or just needed re potting. I must say I have no idea about caring for cactus and have been doing some reading on growing from seed and caring for your cactus over the last 2 days (When I purchased them). The cacti I chose was a Scopulicola, Bridgesii Montrose "Penis Plant" and One unidentified Trich, Which I originally thought might be a Bridgesii but thought I might be best seeking help here. I repotted them as soon as I got them home pretty m…

Hey guys, Just received my order of: 1x Echinopsis Pachanoi 1x Echinopsis Lageniformis Got them through SAB (removed Comment) They are both in a pretty bad way in regards to what looks like rot but i am no expert, What i didnt realise is they come un-potted in a tube... How long can they survive being un-potted? it must be an easy 4-5 days now. Also what kind of soil / perlite etc do i use? And if this is rot will it heal by itself or are they as good as gone?? Appreciate your input all. Cheers
