So last year was my first year ever growing my own plant. I had a great learning experience and from reading through this forum and around the 'net, I have a few I ideas I want to try this time around. My first ever thread is here: https://cannabis.community.forums.ozstoners.com/topic/71279-my-first-grow-any-tips/ I ended up getting about 125gm of dried weed from that plant. I think I buggered up the last couple of weeks and drying process and while the weed was very tasty and did not have bad after effects, the potency was not as good as I had hoped. Last year I accidentally came into the possession of about a dozen or so seeds. This year, after asking around, I…

Hey Guys! First time grower but have been frequently checking this site for info. Some great stuff on here! Just though id get some pointers as I've never grown before only a few veggies/herbs here and there. No chance of indoor growing so outdoors it is!! Live in Melbourne and its just starting to get warmer here ( Spring time late September ) and a lot more sun so thinking now is the time to get these bad boys running. Is now a good time to start? Got 5 Northern storm autos and 5 reg white widow max. Going to start them in wet paper towel method then pop them into large outdoor pots with a good organic soil mix. Got a smallish backyard but gets pretty good su…

Hey Stoners, newbie to this site, made a intro at Dr Livingston and a couple of comments here and there. But I think this is the site I'm after, wondering how many smokers are growing at high altitudes. My place is 830 meters, surrounded by farmland on one side and national park the rest. Temperature range is from minus -7.4C to 39.7C. That is what I have recorded here over the last 17 years. Snow falls we get most winters but they are usually lite, 2012 was our heaviest recently. Heavy frosts are common, last season we had frosts up till mid Nov. Rainfall since 1st Jan. 584mm, this year we are above the average for this area. Overnight dew is the biggest pro…

I bought seeds from Bonza last year. That's a whole other story. I have the strange feeling they may be auto's. Planted two in November, they grew to about 250mm high, then began to flower. Never got any bigger. Are these auto's? If so, when should I plant them? Looking to get them around 1500mm high before they flower.

Hi Guys, This is my first grow. I'm really excited to watch and learn through the process and any harvest will be a great bonus I have an Amnesia Haze and a Freeze Berry Auto i'd like to grow outside. Currently getting 11+ hours of sunlight a day. I hope this will be enough! It will increase over the coming months. I'm going to germinate the seed right off in the pot bucket i'm going to grow it in. I plan on using soil, something i can purchase from Bunnings. I'm thinking of using a simple seedling soil to start at the top of the bucket above the main soil filled below. I have noticed Osmocote Premium being recommended with a mix of Perlite for the main mix. …

Hi all, not sure if i have put this post in the right place or not but here it goes! This outdoor season iv managed to get my hands on some good quality local seeds from a reliable source who apparently has been perfecting his own strain for years. He never gave a name to the strain (this old boy just called it 'his' strain) but i know the quality is up there for a sativa dominate plant. So i have decided to make some seeds of my own with this strain as im not too keen on purchasing seeds online. I got 5 seeds in total, planted all of them about 3 weeks ago and all but 1 popped up. All 4 are going strong at the moment and am hoping i get 2 of each gender so i have a …

Hey all, really enjoy this site and learning from everyone on here. Exciting time of year hey??!!! Exciting but not always without pain. Thanks to days of rain at the end of March/early April in 2014 I forced to harvest early (was beautiful smoke by December though, marvellous what a long, slow cure can do) and lost almost half of my crop to bud rot. Oh well, as a friend said 'that's farming for you'. Messed around with a few ideas but have gone with 6 x 3m square cantilever waterproof umbrellas. Popped them up today and was really happy. They even coped with quite a gusty wind (weighted down with bags of concrete and tethered with hayband). Fingers crossed. How doe…

Hey, Just a question that I cant find the right info for... Being in Aus (far north) Am I right in saying I can Vege under Cfl's from seed for about 3-4 weeks, then transfer outdoors and they will triggering into flower? Then would the flowering period really only be 8-10 weeks like a full indoor grow (strain depending obviously)? Or would i need to put them into 12/12 to trigger them, then put outdoors? I think I have made my question difficult, , sorry, having one of those mornings Or.... because we are coming into spring, will the plants continue to vege with the days getting longer again? Cheers

Hey guys! First time poster, long time reader and fan of this great community! So i checked on my two darlings this morning and suprise! I saw white pistols! I'm all "yayy it's a female!" Whilst doing a one legged hop/dance in the middle of my yard, however upon looking at it again I became unsure if it might possibly be a hermie.. So I snapped some photos hoping you guys can either give me the good news or break my heart! Thanks in advance! minminlight

Disclaimer: I'm sure this has been asked before but I have found no info after extensive research. I apologise in advance if I'm repeating old posts. Hi everybody, a friend of mine is planning on propagating some plants indoors under artificial lighting before moving them outside (in Melbourne) once established. The purpose being to provide a comfortable start to the youngins and get them strong before exposing them to the harshness of nature. Her plan is to start them in early September inside with 24-0 days, then move them out a week into October after the last frost has passed. At this stage the time between sunrise and sunset will be around 12.5 hours (and obvio…

At the moment I have seedlingat their 4th-6th set) grown from feminised AK47xtrm(not orginal ak47 ;( ), fem afghan, fem bianca and also some seedings which I grew from the fre…

Hey friends I am in the process of planning my first ever grow and it's going to be outdoors. I'm planning to grow one or two plants in pot pots for my backyard. I have some questions that hopefully you guys can clear up. 1. Is there a quality soil mix I can just buy from Bunnings that would be suitable? I've researched some soil mixes and they've alot of ingredients. Right now my plan is to buy a retail soil mix and adding in perlite. 2. How much do I have to consider bad weather? Should I do anything special if there's a heavy storm or its an abnormally cold night? Thanks all

Guerrilla growers Hears my trip I started a small experiment using a 200 watt solar panel, a regulator, 160 amp hour battery, 12 volt digital timer, led lights all wired up myself and polytube greenhouse at the site. To get a early start to the season and interrupting the dark cycle using the lights to extend the days and to trick the plant into thinking that the days are long like in spring. from research light lumens don't have to be that strong to trick the plant about 3 times the stronger than moon light. The whole thing is to get bigger guerrilla outdoor monsters and the best way to do that is by starting earlier in the season. anyone think it,s a goer. Cocopete
