General Cultivation Q&A

Im using coco as my medium for my clones i'm wondering how often do i need to water a day i know my ppm will be at 700-800 and i know that the clones are in rockwool so should i sock the coco before adding the rocwool so the rockwool stays dry to incourage roots to grow into coco. Basicly can some one give me a idiot proof step by step guild so i dont f$$k this one up thx While u at it i ve got a soil grow happening that is in all sorts of trouble its basicly 50% perlite and 50% potting mix with nothing else added but a few slow release osmocote pellets what else do u reckonment i should add. thx

im wondering with a hydro setup,how often do u feed them nutes, and how often do u feed the water, and for how long should u do it for?, example, do i feed them nutes all day everyday or for a few hours a day , and when i feed them water do i water them all day or for a few hours a day, im not really sure , my babies are only young an wont be getting nutes yet but, should i be running water till then,, im using a perl/vermic mix, by the way how lightweight is that shit"perlite", i acccidently knocked the bag off the shelf at the shop an it nearly floated,, any advice on the running of hydro ? cheers

I have a home made bubbler and I'm wondering if the plants have a good root system, do i have to keep feeding them from the top? or will they be fine just getting nute from the roots?

Hi guys, just did a check on my young bbxww plants I started recently, and one of them has done something very strange.... She seems to be growing with three leafs coming out from the stem instead of the standard opposing two! I just tipped her a couple of days ago, and that was what I thought it was (I'm trying to FIM) but the three leaf set is underneath the cut, so have I got a freak plant or what? Has anyone else had this happen? peace

im having trouble keeping my temp down,, it seems when ever the wheather is hot like the last couple of days the cupboard temp rises, i have got 2 fans in their going hard, i set one both up to extract but found temps got worse, so one is extracting , one blowing it keeps it down a bit more but, temps still 29,30,31, i use a digi thermomter and its accurate, should i whack another fan in, i have one more, i original bought three, its gonna come into winter soon, an i dont think temp will be a prob then , but in the meantime, what effect does higher temps have on my little babies , overanout

well, ive done it, it took most of the arvo, but ive knocked up a hydro set up,,i have abandoned previous plans of hand watering,and this is how im gonna learn to grow indoors, i still like soil,an handwatering, but for my mullies, i think this might be easier in the long run an will be easier to work the nutes, i set up a resouvoir kinda like toms, with a line that runs around my cupboard with drippers,that will feed into the pots an plants then there is a tray under them ,that will empty back into resouvoir, i decided to let the tray empty back into resovoir cuz i didnt want floods and i couldnt really fit big trays in the cupboard,the trays are kinda like kitty litter…

Hey all, nice oz community you guys have got going here I wasn't too sure where the best place for this post would be, so this place will do! Has anyone here had experience in growing large amounts of plants in a caravan? What do you think of the idea? I'm thinking of setting up around 200 SoG clones in a 24 footer, on 2 8x4' ebb & flow trays. Space will not be a problem, I'm just going to buy a cheapo van and renovate it (i.e tear the shit out of its interior ) so it is simply one single large room. Any suggestions you can think of with this one? I'm going to spend ages planning it so any help at all will be taken into consideration

I've been giving serious consideration to building a DWC system for the next indoor grow.... I've had a look around, and there are a few questions I wonder if anyone here can answer. Firstly, if all else is equal like light and temp, strain and so on, then is there any appreciable difference in yeild, potency or otherwise between growing with DWC and growing in a well managed, sterile medium (be it perlite, grow rocks, or anything else like that that goes in a pot...) with an airpump in the res? I mean, if the point of dwc is that you get more oxygen because the roots are in a highly oxygenated solution, wouldn't that also apply if you watered with a highly oxygenated…

I have decided to update my growroom ,i need to do a couple things.At the moment i have an excaust out that is on 24hours ( for about 3 years now) and one passive vent inair,and oscillating fan.I want to up grade the air thing,I want to buy a centrifugal fan and pull fresh air in and maybe upgrade the excaut fan too. Can someone tell me,how do i get on in winter when it might be 2c outside (shed) with that air coming in? And if you say turn it off what about air in? got some 4 week old plants just experimented a bit with 3 of them, topped 1, tied 1 plant down, and trimmed 1 plant back a bit which is growing some double leaf type thing i left on. done march 20 will have pics soon of this outdoor grow there getting every bit of sun when there is sun, there in a real good spot called my backdyard and my parents are pretty cool with it . have some pics soon and see how the progress is going...
