Well, a grower from dcfonline (a Danish grow forum where i'm active) have successfully germinated seeds in Polyester sponges (for cleaning) instead of rockwool cubes! http://dcfonline.dk/index.php?name=PNphpBB...ight=alternativ So now i'm trying to make clones in the same media. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y26/Terkel/svamp.jpg I've made 20 cuttings and placed them in polyester sponges, and placed them in my humidity dome. i'm using rooting hormone as normal. I will make a feedback on the results of my experiment as soon as they are rooting.

So i bought the aerogarden to give it a go, if fail i will just grow tomatoes and strawberries or some shit, doesnt worry me.. Though what alot of people i believe are doin wrong is that they arnt trimming when the growth gets too high, the light needs to get to the whole plant, if it only gets the top of the plant obviously you wont get the results you expect. I used to grow outdoor plants and got it pretty good, since moving to a small apartment i thought id give it a go, i believe cutting the top and making it grow outward, or using weights to bend it down is the key to aerogarden growth. Its obvious this system isnt going to grow the amount most people want, but i…

I have an aeroponic setup growing white rhino and orange bud this morning i noticed little pods at the fist nodes under the flower heads of one plant, it is only the second week of flower, its an Amazon 32 pot and im using Dutch Hydro coco which isnt available in the shops yet it is a lab sample, i have recently give them a light spray of superbud every 2 days when lights are out. They were all grown from clones from healthy mothers so i have killed it off straight away taking no precautions, my grow room is a walk in wardrobe 4ft square, wall to wall mylar, light sealed using a 400 watt cooltube vented out through a carbon filter, 2 oscillating fans, an extra fan mounted…

Hi all just a noob question, Im planning on using searles seed raising mix to begin my plants, and then will be transplanting them into holes with yearles premium potting mix and some perlite. I am planning on using a bit less than half of the original soil in the holes. The original soil really isn't that great, quite dry and sandy. My questions are: How long is the seed raising mixture suitable to grow the seedlings in until transplanting them to the holes? i was thinking 2 - 4 weeks? What's a good ratio to mix the perlite and soil? 1:4? Any suggestions for potting soil besides yearles premium potting mix..? personally i think this sounds good. Will this mix be sufficie…

Does anyone know anything about mixing daylight with HPS light in a veg stage? example putting your plants outside to give them 6 hours day light (during the middle of the day) + 12 hours of HPS light possible benefits would be a reducing the time you need to power a light while maximizing your growth, i really don't know what im talking about its just an idea id like some feedback on. Peace

So you got some seeds/seedlings and you wanna give them the best start in life? Here's some info/links on worm castings and building your own worm farm I thought I'd put up 'cos I haven't seen much on here. If there's already info I missed... my bad. Building a worm farm (I got this this from a council website) 1. Choose a nice spot for your worms to live. Make sure the spot is not too hot or cold. If you use polystyrene boxes, you will need two of them with one needing a lid. 2. Poke about twenty holes in the bottom of one box. Put the lid on the box with hole and place this box on the box without the holes. The bottom box will catch the liquid produced by the…

howdy all, i was planning on growing some plants outside in pots using 100% Canna coco, but after checking things out ive decided its a bit out of my price range, however the local nurserie has bricks of coco peat for $1.70 each i dont know what brand it is because it has no label on it, is this stuff basically the same as canna coco? and would it be good to grow my plants in? if yes should i mix in some top soil or use 100% coco peat?

Ok i am a real newbie when it comes to growing cannabis or indeed growing anything for that matter. I found some seeds in my cupboard presumably left over from my sisters previous attempts in growing (last summer and summer before) so reasonably old. I was unsure if they would work so decided to try anyway. I put them into a glass half full of water and let them float around. Its now up to day three and only one has sprouted. There were two small seeds and one bigger seed, only the bigger one has cracked. How long does it usually take for them to start to crack? Are the other two not going to sprout at all if they havnt cracked by now (3days)?
