Hello Everyone, I have just started to get heavily into taking clones, (with mixed results) so far I have had about a 60% success rate on rooting the clones. If possible I would like to change this into a 100% success rate and I was wondering if a heat mat for my clones would help. Right now I do my clones in a weak nutrient solution in rockwool under a cloning light for about two weeks until they start to show ample roots. What does everyone reckon?....do heating mats work?.....I have looked at the expensive ones with a thermostat but I am tossing up which one to buy???...any suggestions guys?

G'day Everyone, Had my first attempt at cloning and successful thus far ( thanks to the bubble cloner tutorial ). All of them are at about the same stage with roots. Should I be transplanting them yet? or wait for more root growth? They will be going into a F&D with clay balls. As always, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi I hope everyone had a good Christmas and a happy new year. I have a question to ask any experienced grower. What I have is three plants growing and they are in the sixth week of flowering. I don't know the type of plants they are but I do know that they are Sativas, anyhow they are in a growbox and I can't keep the temp down. It is sometimes at the one hundred degree mark! They are growing on a 12 - 12 cycle and looking worse for wear due to excessive heat. I also have several small plants growing outside and they are in a shade house and growing really good and healthy. The question that I want to pose is can I take the flowering plants and put them outside without…

HI. I live in Adelaide, and I don't have much money for a grow op, but I can probably afford (just) the seeds (5) and cheap pots. I want to start growing outdoors in the next 2 or so weeks (hopefully it won't take longer) I have absolutely zero gardening or similar experience, and I am well known for having poor hands on practical skills Nonetheless I am determined, because its that or give up weed for good because the habit is too expensive (actually don't like the word habit, its not very addictive). Okay so what I do is: Get the seeds, put them in a glass of water, wait a few days or so until they look different, then grab them and place them 2-3 cm beneat…

Throwing some questions into the ring. Please discuss... How long does coco fibre hold its stuctural integrity? ei How soon does it get too dusty? Does any one have a technique for separating dust out of the medium? Are there any ferts or minerals that build up longer term that cant be removed by flushing and have a detrimental effect ? When should you call it quits on reusing the same coco? What else do ya reckon? I'm really still a little inexperienced to hold ant firm opinions yet and am all ears. Thanks

this is my first attempt in horticulture i made a box whit 1m x 1.2m x 0.6m, this will be the home for 2 plants, i want to drill some holes to put 120mm pc fans, from what i read i need around 200-250 cmf, one simgle fan have around 50 cmf, what is the suggestion about the number of the intake and the exhaust for the box and also how do i possition them. My second quistion is relatet about the nutrient, for the vegetating period what is the optimum ration of NPK (20-20-20 it is ok? at the moment the are about 10 cm high ) sorry for my stupid questions and my english.

This will be my first time growing and Ive decided to use a hydroponic grow medium rather then soil. Which grow mediums are preferred? I'm assuming that by using a medium i will have to feed the plant with nutrients. Do i mix the nutrients in with my watering system? How often do plants need water and nutrients? Sorry if they seam like silly questions im still trying to get my head around the idea. Peace

I would like to take credit for this but credit is due where credit is due. i obtained this info from the Incitec website (although it obtains to agriculture on a large scale, the plant basics and nutrient requirements are basically the same) Feel free to move this to the appropriate section if you feel it isnt in the right place. Nitrogen Nitrogen in soils Nearly all the Nitrogen in the soil orginates from the atmosphere, which is made up of about 80% nitrogen, The Rocks and minerals from which soils are formed do not contain nitrogen, Most of the nitrogen present in the soil is in the form of organic matter. Organic Nitrogen is however not available for plant uptake…

Hello, Firstly I've never grown a plant before so I don't even know where to start. Before I buy anything (seeds, soil etc) I want to be confident I have a fair idea on what I'm doing. Few points - I live in SE QLD, temps are a pretty consistent 30 degrees now and the rainy season has begun. I'm assuming it's too late to grow anything and I should wait to around September right? I want to grow outdoors. Not where I live though, in some bushland somewhere near where I live. I want to pick somewhere near a water source with lots of existing healthy greenery (i.e. grass, shrubs, trees etc), and preferably near a water source. Somewhere where no one else will likely g…
