Denver Post 18 January, 2009 Posted by CODeist2009 The question of is smoking Marihuana dangerous will largely depend on who you ask, where they get their information, the reliability of the information, and whether or not the individual has actually partook of the ‘herb’. Furthermore to what do we compare the alleged dangerousness of this plant; hashish, heroine, cocaine, methamphetamine, alcohol, tobacco, narcotics or physician prescribed FDA approved medication? The idea that Marijuana is harmful to the health of an individual is based on studies done in the 1960’s and 1970’s. In the book “Marijuana Myths, Marijuana Facts:” Dr. Lynn Zimmer and John Morgan add…

An alleged drug farm which used an elaborate irrigation system to grow cannabis has been raided by NSW police. More than 1500 marijuana plants — with an estimated street value of $1.5 million — were seized from the property in Mudgee in the state's central west. Four men were arrested at the scene and are being questioned. The cannabis plants were ripped from the ground and will be destroyed in a large burn-off, police say. I BET NO ONE CALLS IN SICK WHEN THEY DO THE BURN-OFF!!!! WANKERS!!!

The future of Nimbin?

I only just came across this story Police in the Richmond local area command say they were surprised by the results of a recent crackdown on illicit drugs. Acting Superintendent Greg Moore says two tourists buses were pulled over near Nimbin late last week and more than half the passengers onboard were found to be carrying drugs. He says while 24 of those caught were issued with cautions, others were not so lucky. "Depends on the type of drug and the quantities involved," he said. "In the majority of cases last week people were entitled to cannabis cautions, but there were other drugs such as LSD, amphetamines and ecstasy also seized. "Those people with the ha…

The new legislation, an Australian first, will be aimed at combating the sale of equipment for cultivating hydroponic cannabis. Police Minister Michael Wright said the move would make it easier for police to track who was buying the equipment. "If you are using the equipment to grow tomatoes then you have nothing to fear but if it is for growing cannabis then you can expect a visit fr…

Hi. Just a heads up (or down depending on ya circumstances) to anyone in the Nimbin/NSW FNC area. The chopper arrived yesterday (mon 2/2), apparantly they did Moondani just south of town, they also did around Tuntable, Avalon at Stoney Chute, and the Area between Lillyfield community heading East to Blue Knob, including Lofts Pinnacle Rd on the border of the Tweed and Kyogle shires. This morning (Tues 3/2) they did finished up at Lillian Rock and appear to be heading toward Barkers Vale as of now(the time of typing.) Flying Grid patterns. I'd say they will spend the rest of the day around barkers Vale and probably head elsewhere, like the Channon/Terania Valley, …

http://www.police.nsw.gov.au/news/latest_r...CZhbGw9MQ%3D%3D Did anyone else see this on the News last night? Australia started as a penal colony - although without the history books I'd have guessed as a mental asylum - and now we've come full circle. Just imagine how good it will be when a police officer can arrest you if you refuse to give your fingerprints! I'm feeling safer already!

I know it's not canna related. But people with a terminal illness that have wanted to end their suffering have faced similar persecution as us cannabis consumers for as long as i can remember. If your similar to myself and have witnessed a loved ones passing due a terminal illness, you'd know this is just as much as a hot topic as all things canna related. Good to see some common sense working it's way back into the system. Here's hoping the trend continues.. Source: www.news.com.au/couriermail

Oh shit. Looks like were following the good 'ol fascist state of U.S. down the track of private prisons, I suppose the useless govt. here can't organise a root in a brothel even with the ludicrous amounts of tax they steal from us so foisting out incarceration services is the next money-saving, responsibility dodging scam from the NSW gov. "The former Unions NSW boss John Robertson will be sworn in as Minister for Corrective Services today at a time when the Government is moving to privatise prisons. Mr Robertson will also be Minister for Public Sector Reform and Special Minister of State. Monaro MP Steve Whan will be Minister for Emergency Services and Small Busi…

This article by me appeared in Treating Yourself Magazine #13. It is my overview of my recent visit to Nimbin and being a cannabis activist in Australia. I hope you enjoy this. The Prism of Activism My name is Mark, and I am a cannabis activist living in Canberra, Australia. I am but one of many good folk in my homeland who have taken up the struggle to bring cannabis and hemp awareness to the World, and put an end to prohibition. Being a cannabis activist in Australia is an onerous task. It requires dedication, commitment and courage. The laws in Australia are still somewhat draconian, and the Federal Government still maintains a zero tolerance towards cannabis, b…

Geocities: The Digital Genesis
In the bustling digital streets of the late '90s, Yahoo Geocities stood out as a haven for burgeoning online communities. A Hiatus and the Phoenix's Ascent
Come 2022, OZ Stoners entered a period of unplanned dormancy, lasting a challenging 12 months. But, reminiscent of the legendary phoenix, this hiatus was transformed into an opportunity for rebirth. The platform underwent comprehensive upgrades, server enhancements, and a revitalising overhaul. As it emerged, it did so with a phoenix-like rise, soaring higher and brighter, dedicated to serving the community with even more zeal and purpose.
Ode to the Trailblazers
The tapestry of OZ Stoners is woven with the dedication and vision of its founding members. Their relentless drive and contributions have been the bedrock of its success. While many of these pioneers continue to shape its direction, we pause to honor those trailblazers we've lost over time. Their indomitable spirit continues to inspire and resonate within the cannabis community. - Memorial Hall
