"Would you believe it? One of the reasons marijuana is illegal today is because cotton growers in the 30s lobbied against hemp farmers - they saw it as competition. Industrial hemp is not chemically addictive as is nicotine, alcohol, or caffiene." Gympie Times Saturday 18th July, 2009 Page 2 Author unknown editorial@gympietimes.com (It may not be much and flawed, but great to see some positive media information, very strange to find in the paper I thought)

I checked back on this pdf someone sent me a while ago. And finally found the bit on Cannabis. It's quite interesting. Here's an exceprt Here's the link for it. I'm still not quite sure whether we even have Dronabinol in Aus.... Apparently it is an extract, not synthetic. Go to page 142 http://www.tga.gov.au/ndpsc/record/rr200902.pdf I just sent a letter to the TGA asking them about it.

California Adds Pot to List of Cancer-Causing Substances Posted on: Sunday, 5 July 2009, 10:30 CDT In a move that has the good people of California scratching their heads in perplexity, state lawmakers recently passed a measure that would eventually require medical marijuana—prescribed most frequently to alleviate suffering in patients with severe cancer—to carry a warning label telling of its potential cancer-causing risks. Last month state environmental regulators decided that cannabis should be added to its official list of substances known to cause cancer, which will likely lead to warning signs in marijuana dispensaries and cautionary labels on product packaging.…

Source: tvnz.co.nz = http://tvnz.co.nz/national-news/kiwis-bigg...rijuana-2804157 HighTimes = http://hightimes.com/news/ht_admin/5581 New Zealand and Australia have one of the highest rates of marijuana use in the world. The UN 2009 World Drug Report found that marijuana was used at least once in 2007 by between 3.3% and 4.4% of the global population, making it the most popular illegal drug. Usage was highest in Central America (10.5% of the population) and Australia/New Zealand (11%). The report also says the global underground markets for cocaine and heroin appear to have shrunk in 2008, but amphetamine production and use may be increasing in developing countri…

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-46...d-cannabis.html Now TEN cabinet ministers admit: 'We smoked cannabis' OK this was some time ago, and I know there are many more of these. So lets build the evidence that shows cannabis does no long term harm, unless they are all admitting mental imparment or brain damage while serving in office. This will be very useful information and will add to the growing evidence of the hypocracy and lies by governments around the world.

A few weeks before Barack Obama was elected president, Mary Beth Buchanan, the U.S. attorney for western Pennsylvania, filed criminal charges against the makers of the Whizzinator, a fake penis used to deliver clean urine for drug tests. The strap-on phallus, which comes in assorted “natural, lifelike skin tones,” is connected by a tube to a hidden bladder containing urine (sold separately) that is untainted by marijuana metabolites. According to its manufacturer, Puck Technology of Signal Hill, California, the Whizzinator is so realistic that “we can’t show you the whole thing,” which is why ads for it in publications such as High Times had to be censored, with a marijua…

A Tale of Two Studies

A Tale of Two Studies For 35 years scientists have known that naturally occurring compounds in the cannabis plant possess potent and selective anti-cancer properties, a fact that I have documented extensively in previous writings here, here, and here. Yet for more than three decades the scientific study of these anti-cancer effects has remained almost exclusively limited to preclinical in vitro (in a petri dish) and in vivo (in lab animals) analysis, rather than clinical (human) study. Why? A just published review in the Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology provides an answer. Cannabinoid receptor ligands as potential anticancer agents - high hopes for new thera…

Geocities: The Digital Genesis
In the bustling digital streets of the late '90s, Yahoo Geocities stood out as a haven for burgeoning online communities. It was here, amidst this digital renaissance, that OZ Stoners planted its foundational roots. This marked the dawn of a space that would go on to become synonymous with Australian cannabis culture.
Navigating the Digital Tempests
On its journey, OZ Stoners faced formidable challenges. Between Yahoo's unpredictability and the unexpected anti-cannabis stance of titans like Meta, steering the ship required a blend of adaptability, tenacity, and foresight.
A Hiatus and the Phoenix's Ascent
Come 2022, OZ Stoners entered a period of unplanned dormancy, lasting a challenging 12 months. But, reminiscent of the legendary phoenix, this hiatus was transformed into an opportunity for rebirth. The platform underwent comprehensive upgrades, server enhancements, and a revitalising overhaul. As it emerged, it did so with a phoenix-like rise, soaring higher and brighter, dedicated to serving the community with even more zeal and purpose.
Ode to the Trailblazers
The tapestry of OZ Stoners is woven with the dedication and vision of its founding members. Their relentless drive and contributions have been the bedrock of its success. While many of these pioneers continue to shape its direction, we pause to honor those trailblazers we've lost over time. Their indomitable spirit continues to inspire and resonate within the cannabis community. - Memorial Hall
