Advice on LED lights (genuinely 600W HID equivalents).

Recommended Posts

Thanks mate. Yeah that's what I've found throughout a few grows using HP's and led.

Hps grows I did went well but the closeness I get from the LEDs made a very good difference as far as I can tell.

That being said I ran 1 HP's light as apposed to the 4 LEDs [emoji12] so that probably equates to more coverage of canopy but the bottom buds were heaps more developed I believe from being closer.

Just my observations not preaching facts.

I don't know LED but I do know about intensity vs spread. Close = brighter, less area to fill but heavier buds, so long as they don't cook.

Cool. I've been using led for a little while now started with the cheaps mars blurple for veg and hps for flower.

Have since switched to quantum boards for flower. But did notice early on with the cheaper ones I had far quicker growth if I got the light closer. I just applied the same logic to the quantums and have had some pretty happy results.

Thought I'd share. [emoji106]

Are you dimming them in veg to have them that close.

When i started i had the 3 lights about 40cm from the top and they just stacked the nodes to close for my liking. I had one plant the had 9 nodes in 9cm it was ridiculous. [emoji23][emoji23]

So i just moved em as high as they can go and left em there. The plants seem to like it.

Yeah sorry mate I do dim them to 3/4 for the veg on my quantums. But the old mars don't have a dim. Not that you'd likely to ever use it.

I don't mind the tighter node as compared to the mars if I don't drop them down the node stretch is appalling.

I'm only applying what I've learnt from using rubbish LEDs for a bit now. I just carried it over to the quantums and I'm pretty happy with them. I only used a 400w HP's for about 4 grows. And the quantums have out performed it in yeild in the last 2 I've used them.

Now saying that I believe I'm a better grower now to. So that will definitely be a factor.

Overall I'll stay with them from now on

Yeah mate i only use 2 of my 3 o for veg as 3 was just keeping them to short and i dont dim them thats why i run em so high. That and im lazy and like the fact i never have to move my lights. [emoji23]

Not bad veging a 2.4x1.2 space with 520watts.
