Black mold on top of rockwool.

Recommended Posts

Need help here, with the cutting I have for my next grow one then two and now all have black mold on top of the rock wool.
First time I have experiences this. They've have had a rough time over summer here.
Can I fix it or should I just toss them?
I can regrow what I currently have in the tent and take some clippings from them but it will mean I will loose a strain I planned to grow over winter which will piss me off.
If I have to do it though I will, and see if I can find something else. I try to grow sativa over summer and indica over winter.

My main concern on keeping them is when I put them into flower under the hps, I'm effectively taking mold into the tent.

It's really f'ing humid here and always is. I keep the cutting very humid but can they be too humid.
I have them uncovered out in the sun for 4 odd hours during the day and  in at night under a troffer covered.

Any suggestions to get rid of it . Thanks for your time

Hydrogen peroxide, spray and wipe.

Depends on the strength of it will be how much you dilute in water.

Just my 2 cents

Thanks for your prompt reply. Will it not kill the cuttings?

When you say wipe, do you mean wipe off.

Wouldn't it get absorbed into the rockwool?

Has it worked for you before?

i tried 4 times to post a photo and even tried to edit one in but no luck

Im considering this option. This is just one of many different brands. Kills rott with no chemicals and can be used any time in flower

The black mold I have isn't on buds, or even the plant.

Just the top of my rockwool that my cutting, clones are in?

Would it work for that?

Yes being to humid can be an issue imo.

By sounds of it you need better air flow and to drop the humidity a bit, try hitting with h2o2 like baked said and go from there...

Got it, once they got some roots in the little humidy tray I have them in I should have just left the lid of completely. I had NO air flow.

If that h2o2 get into the rock wool too far can it kill the clones. The are only about 8cm high but have great roots? It wood be more about the dosage?

It was really dry here for ages and I had some die, so I keep them very humid. Then when it got humid I didn't change anything and about two week later the rot on top of the rockwool.

Thanks for that, it helps me understand how I got it as I'm very sterile with this stuff. Maybe just caught a little outside then no air flow inside and boom!

Thanks to everyone, I'll work out the right dosage and give them a touch up
