I did some reading on this process, because I'd like to make some gem seeds too. Several sources suggested 30ppm CS or higher. I did a bit of googling and this higher strength isn't too hard to buy on the internet.

It's not too hard to buy, but from memory it was like $35 a L and you end up needing like 10L or so over the entire process (well that's what I went through when I did mine)
