Few other updates.

 

Sebagos smothering the brake lights in the heugelbed in last pic.

 

Bad spacing maybe, while pink fir apple, kipfler both fingerling seem to grow as big as regular but the brake light seem a bit smaller.

 

Those sebagos are bigger than I thought they would be.

 

Some varieties are over 1m now

 

While I don't hill except with some mulch I'm liking that the ground gets shaded out completely in these dry times.

 

Some Nicola testers I dug yesterday from a smaller bed not pictured.

 

Tasty. More buttery than Dutch creams.

Perhaps less pest resistance.

Having said that they were part of the wind damaged ones so broken tops and laid down. Stayed going but slowed em up.

 

Those Nicolas are around 65 days only.

Day 50 since flip. (I reckon most were mature, alternating branching, popping pistils) when I flipped so they seemed to flip right away.

I did have some issues with underwatering.

Despite all my shit talk about automatic watering.

 

Here are a few more pics from my no till section

 

Raspberry had its clover dropped.

 

Some sunflowers in old corn pots.

 

Onions in old corn pots too.

 

Comfrey flowers are pretty.

 

Nettles

 

Blueberry finally doing something so cut back borage to give it a chance.

 

Good germ on the valerian. Overdue planting.

 

Can't see it but only 1 strawberry crown made it so far under the onions.

Those beds are impressive carb! How do you tell when potatoes are ready? I've got a stray one going at the moment, must of grown from scraps

Let em die off.

I have dug em up then.

 

Have read to get thick skins to cut tops and leave in ground for 2 weeks without watering.

Haven't tried this yet but at have to so they store better.

 

Can take them whenever really, just be smaller.

 

Have read that about a month after they flower is roughly harvest time too.

Potato foliage ok to compost also.

Roos had a lie in 2 of em.

 

They grow tight and tall then get to. Appoint where they lie .over a. Bit due to weight. So don't have that spring back to vertical.

 

They haven't done any damage to soil surface or eat any foliage and generally plants bouncy. Back abit and side shoots . Become top.

 

Can kind of see it in this pic . Roo had a lie down right in middle a few days ago
