Heating a Grow tent in Winter

Oil heater with a temp gauge. That's what I got and it works a fucking treat

You can do a poor man's heater by placing a old incandescent light globe in a milo tin with the lid on and suspend it from the grow room roof u can punch holes in the milo tin but u will need to use a green incandescent light bulb

How many hours/day are you running that Oil heater?

It runs on a thermometer. So it keeps my tent between 23 and 27. Works very well. Electricity bill is not big so it does the trick

Flub how are u managing those temps? a oil heater takes around 20-35mins to heat up, what are u setting the thermometer temp at and where do u place your probe near the bottom middle or top of grow room?

So there is a good reptile temp and light gauge on eBay. I'll get the link for ya. You set your lights timer and temps on one device

Flub how are u managing those temps? a oil heater takes around 20-35mins to heat up, what are u setting the thermometer temp at and where do u place your probe near the bottom middle or top of grow room?

I got a small 1000w oil heater. I got it on medium setting. It turns on for like 15mins and temps are good again. And my tent holds temps well I think. I got the the thermostat on the brim of the pots in the middle of the tent.

just a point of view 

 

one of the probs with heating cooling humidifying de humidifying

is buying a unit 2 big

 

the prob is with the thermostat , you get fluctuations constantly with the off on adjustment

 

better to buy a unit that is just the right size or even a lill under so the unit is in constant heating or cooling or humidifying

& not thermostating off & on giving you up & down fluctuations , not to mention the poss life of the unit

when switching on & off all the time wont last as long as just being on all the time

Those temps are not a big fluctuation and well within range to grow good bud. Running constantly will use more power. Way more
