My first grow - any tips?

Recommended Posts

good looking close photos!

is it ready? depends, what kind of high would you like out of your plant?
Do you want to be welded to the lounge or do you want more of a head high?

If you harvest now (mostly cloudy), your high is going to be less of a couch-lock and more of  heady high - aka you'll be stupid but not lifeless.

not a bad idea to take a few buds now (and a few more in a week) let them dry/cure etc and compare the smoke of the earlier harvested to the later harvested plant, you may prefer an early harvest vs late.

great job- carry on

So I just finished my first harvest. Mutha-FUCKER!!!

I reckon I spent 8hrs yesterday and 10hrs today. For one fucken plant!

I did trim it pretty hard, Adelaide is pretty dry air but the forcast over the next few days is not hot and I dont have the best air flow in my shed where they are hanging. Let me know if you think I had trimmed too much. It may have been why it took me so long to harvest.

My hand is sore from the scissors and the I got a fair bit of trim and popcorn buds so will try and make some butter.

Anyone want to guess how much I have? I know I took about 50 gm of small buds, bigger than popcorn stuff but I had to take them off the stem to cut them properly. I reckon if that was 50 gm then I might have four or five times that much hanging up.

I have the small stuff in a couple of cardboard boxes.

Also, the hanging buds are spread out a lot more than what I have shown in the photo, I just bunched them up to try and fit as much as possible in the photo.

Anyway, let me know your thoughts and how all of your harvests are going. Im gonna go smoke some of this scissor hash, haha

Hey Rosymondd83 Just keep an eye on those buds they will dry really quick as there is no leaf matter to slow it down, try and keep you temps in your shed down if you can. I had an Auto Skunk that I trimmed like that and it over dried in 3 and half days. If it is too dry then you may not get quite as good cure. I err on the side of being slightly damp rather than over dry before I jar and keep a close eye on the jars for any excess dampness. I have found that if you cut all the damaged leaves along with the sun leaves and any larger ones this will leave you with a heap of small leaves on the buds. Once they are almost dry I do a second trim before placing in jars...if its medicine you want then you may not even bother with the second trim as I know plenty who leave the sugar leaves and smoke the lot. Which is dine when its all had a good cure IMHO

You have done well and should be enjoying the fruits of you labor for a the next few months. I completed my harvest last weekend for a total yeild of 307grms Dried weight plus 120grms of popcorn and leaf which I have already made into butter...cookie time this week.
