phillips 315w LEC with D-Papillon reflector

Recommended Posts

The bulbs (and Welthink ballasts, 6 pcs, freight is by FedX USD170, G.W. is about 16kg, USD70/pc for the 315W CMH ballast = USD590 total - about USD100 each is not bad) are available from China, sourced from Belgium, from here http://chang-ming-dianqi.com/en/ They are also on Alibaba http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Philips-Master-color-CDM-T-Elite_680485734.html

There might be knockoffs available but I'm no longer looking at this due to its rarity, and the moment passed in waiting for reply.  I'm sure the Chinese couldn't give a flying for patent law, until they get caught.

Haven't heard back on the bulbs by either mode and after more research on other fora am now looking at using something else.

These aren't worth it until they become a little bit more available, all the trouble you guys are going to... to find a fucking bulb. lol

Awesome pics Forgetiwashere, the colours and frost are intense.

Unless you find them cheap and find them first, why not ... for a fucking bulb that's ahead of the game ... You've been given the leads.

Too much attack in this place, passive and overt. No need for it at all with some understanding we are all in the same boat - if we are. It's a matter of perception, some don't have it, some just aren't.

I'd say if you are moved to the CDM/CMH go for it. Welthink .com, in collaboration with another firm, also developed the first ballast for the Philips CDM 860 in 2013, Bonnie in particular is helpful, are a genuinely proud manufacturer who may be able to source the 315w bulbs, or you'd have to work at it - they are also on ebay.com (no .au). Their other horti gear is also professional standard but you have to inquire for specifics.

lol i just walk into my local store, doesnt seem to hard to find a bulb they are right next to all the others lol

Edit:- also i dont see what all the fuss is about. if you want to get on board with these i see them as a good investment for a long term grower who knows they will be growing for some time. honestly the initial cost is steep but, the power savings are there when you can cut your wattage in half also the start up cost includes 2 bulbs in the kit. each lamp will last around 2 years from what im reading so for 2 years you have no more costs except for your decreased power bill and i assure you the difference on the bill is noticeable immediately to me.

I would recommend Noobs or people who dont have the initial start up money and want to go on the cheap just go grab yourself an old magnetic ballast and a HPS lamp. you could be up and growing for pocket change and lets be honest any of us that have been doing this long enough know that you can grow weed just as well with the old cheap gear just as well as you can with the newest flashest most expensive gear. the difference will be in the ongoing costs of replacing lamps every 1 or 2 grows and higher bills

i find this thread most enlightening and appreciate the informative knowledge contained within, thanks all.

I agree :)

I think we are all talking along nicely like we were sitting in a room... I like threads like this ^^

Even if there is doubt or hope, agree or disagree... we are are all still waiting for the Prom girl to come down the stairs... aka Forgetiwashere's harvest ;)

With the pricetag being the most debated aspect, I still must insist on thanking Forgetiwashere for sharing his grow with us as pictures speak a thousand words ;)

Regardless of anything in this world... if the user is happy then thats all that matters ;)

Peace!

Here's a kicker, just rang and talked to Philips Au of the phone. No wonder nobody is selling them in Au, the bastards are discountiued. The nice lady on the phone was not familiar with the range, but had a lovely comp to tell her her shit and is not aware of a replacement line of products.

So I suppose the overseas ones are in limited supply, unless they are only discontinued in good old Aussie. Slowly beats head against the wall. FFS

Not a good reply for a single bulb delivery from Growers House US.

International Economy $63.87
 International Priority $85.71

:( :( :(

Oh well, the search continues.

Stealth Garden Au, still haven't or wont reply to my enquiries about the bulbs. :(

how come you cant get the bulbs from china

I'm confused...
