Pots for hydroponic use..

Recommended Posts

Hello Hopper , Do you mean these Anti-Spiral pots?

When you say the 2 part pot you mean like a pot with drainage holes inside one without holes connected to a drainage pipe back to the res sorta thing ?

This would be the way I will be using them

Cheers :) Brimstond

yeah them the ones Brim, the Vaso ones..very nice bit of kit. Peace. Nibbler.

GH so there ia a solid pot that does with the inner pot we can see there? I cant see the solid pot that they sit in, do they come as one part or do you buy them separatley?

I looked at the ANOVA pots they seem to be soild (water saver)

Im keen to set up a smaller recirc in another cupboard that I could then use to repot into the larger tent as part of a perpeptual grow.

I was wondering the same thing but I dont think it has a solid pot for sale with the antispiral one

Could just get some buckets from bunnings and put some retic fittings in the bottom to collect the runoff then place the pots into the buckets

thats how I usually do hydro....but I use normal black bunnings pots

Thanks for the reply Slipper .....is there any chance you could take a few pics of the Smart pots and also the price you picked them up for ?

Cheers :) Brimstond

Hi Brimstond,

I payed $27 per set for the NF pots, which came with the top pot which has a grated bottom, bottom pot which is solid, and a 19mm grommet plus 19mm elbow. The guy from the hydro shop drilled holes in the bottom pots for me for the outlets.

There's flat spots on the bottom pots to drill for the outlets, which is supposed to prevent leaking.

I'll download some pics of them in the next day or two if I can.

The only problem with the NF pot is its made for Hydroton (Clayballs) , for Coco the Vaso's are better, they have aeration holes in the sides as well, these also air prune the roots.

Looks like these NF ones just have a grill on the bottom, which is sorta a bit silly, could drill the sides though...... be theres all day though.... lol .

Peace. Nibbler.

Thanks for posting those pics Slipper .....with the adjustable height with those pots are they just 2 or 3 different heights you can set it at?

The way I read the product description was that it was adjustable to a height of my choosing ....

What heights are the different levels at Slipper?

Hey Hopper ..... I suppose different pots have different media in mind ...... with the clay pebbles you wouldnt realy think that air to the root system would be a major issue ....just really need to keep the pebbles in and have enough drainage ...so the NF pots should be good enough ....wouldnt think you could put coco in it without a pot sock or something to keep the coco in the pot.......

Cheers :) Brimstond
