Its bad enuff that society condones alcohol use by kids...why should be take the low road and promote marijuana use amonst teens

I started smoking and drinking when I was 13...by the time I was 17 I felt burnt out and wondered what the fuck Id been doing for the last 4.5 years

 

And yes each individual had different expereiences...

 

Try learning something about your new found hobby..the people invloved in it and why they are in it...educate yourself rather than being wholly educated by popular beliefs and whats currently the IN thing to do

The legal age should be at least 18, because as others have pointed out, pot can adversley affect the developing brain, and nervous system. Although as I think Luke mentioned, there will be some who can handle it, and others who can't. But there needs to be basic limits, such as alcohol or tobacco has.

If my son came home at like, 16, and was obviously stoned or told me he was using pot, I'd do my very best to discourage him, and educate him about it. But If he continued to use it, I'd probably give him a safe environment at home to do it. Rather than in town somewhere, or in a park or something. At least I can supervise him, and I know he's not into any mischeif

Yeah I think the age limit is good. I think ultimately people are better off without pot all things being equal. It wastes time and money, can create problems with the law and chronic addiction can turn you into a zombie. so, kids should not be encouraged IMO. obviously no one can stop kids coming to this site, but we do not encourage it.

This site is run in as "responsible" a manner as possible, the accepted age for the purchase and use of legal drugs such as alcohol and tobacco is set at eighteen so it is therefore assumed that the same would apply to pot were it to become legal.

i always feel that everything an 18 plus limit is fucked up. In one day you go from no alcohol and only driving with a licensced sober passenger to being able to buy drink and go driving by yourself.

 

There should be a transition, so you aren't suddenly burdened with resposibility. because when your seventeen are you that mentally different than when your 18?
