First Time Grow / First Time Issue

Only my opinion, but I think you would have loads more success raising seeds in a quality seed raising mix then going from there, unless you want to keep it solely hydro.

 

This is not to say what you are doing is wrong. As the others said there are just certain things that you need to watch at this critical stage of the plants life especially when trying to raise seeds in rockwool cubes.

 

So as I said before it's not a wrong or a bad method as heaps of peeps raise seeds in rockwool, just a little more tedious.

Well Ive stopped the Rhizotonic for now, and have just been checking that the grodan cubes arent completely dried out and theyve picked up again nicely

Have a new issue guys. The seedlings are slumping over. Ive made sure I havent over watered but pretty much from their stems theyre bending right over, Any suggestions?

Theyre pretty young Ev, only have their first set of true leaves out and theyre about 1cm long. Cant really get the light any closer though because of the lid on the propagation container. Should I remove the lid and raise them closer?

yep i would , if your using fluros the plant needs to be almost touching bulb , when i say fan i meant slight breeze .. so they just move ..

edit* gave a 20ml water and the one that was slumped right over has stood up again... maybe i ran em too dry?

Im thinking theyve stretched big time too . Ive got them sitting around an inch from the fluro's now. See if that helps. Im not flowering these anyways, they were going to be my mothers.... If I dont kill them before then

 

edit* Would it be worth flowering these to sex them? I only buy feminised seeds

crucial to stop streching

1 keep the lights close as possible

2 flush the root zone out with pure water

till it runs out the bottom clear

in this time

just use pure water

no nutrients at all

till the first true leaves are---> fully open and tracking the light <---

only then start the first nutrient feed at 1/4 of the recommended strength

at the opening of the next set of leaves increase to 1/2 strength nutrients

3/4 strength at the 3rd set of leaves etc

Are you keeping yours indoors for its entire life span?
