Sawyers Summer Grow 08/09

Hi all,

 

Thought I'd drop by and show you the progress of my baby. I had a difficult start to the season and lost several of my plants to rippers. Such are the joys of outdoor growing in urban areas...

 

This is the lone survivor as she stood on in late November.

 

This is she stands now.

Here's an update. She's powering along nicely into summer.

It's difficult to get a sense of scale, but she stands at about 115cm.

Is that a river in the back ground in the last pic or is that water from the massive amounts of rain lately ?

Yeah mate, it's a small creek fed by storm-water runoff. It does flood occasionally after rain, but at least it keeps the soil nice and moist. As such I don't have to water her much, just a dose of fish emulsion every fortnight.

 

Shame about your plants being ripped too mate.

Nice, It's funny how it only has 3 leaves on the fanleaves though aye? I am not sure why it does that maybe it's the ducksfoot.

Here's a quick update of mine, she's continuing to power skywards although I wish she had access to more sun.

One of the local fauna. (Does anybody know what these guys are?)

They don't appear to be hurting the plant at all.

She has actually passed a milestone over the past couple of days. She's 6ft tall!
