I definately have to say yes they do make a diff in growroom temps, it would help to have the res outside the grow room and a neat trick i read was to bury coiled black plastic pipe under the ground ( concrete slab would be better) and run your cooling water through it, for christsake make sure you set up your lights so if you have pump failure the water will syphon back into the res, you could also have lights temp controlled so if pump fails then light go off when a certain temp is reached, cost more but a good failsafe, hope this helps.

Hey just got a updated price and they are really dear:-

 

for 1 -1000ww hps ballest/shade/jacket and globe its about $1200 dollars, but this includes a special bulb that costs $260 per unit so the plants still recieve full light even wraped in water.

 

on top of that

 

heat exchange unit, 200 litre res and pump cost is $1700 dollars, but this will cool 6000 watts of light.

 

Swing is drooling at the mouth ..... but it is so much moola.

not even close to being worth the money. The only reason you'd consider it is if you were living in a tight situation in a country like the US with prior convictions and therefore facing some serious jail time if busted.

 

but for us Aussie personal growers, a little care, common sense and mild paranoia will do just as well

you can get water jackets 4 about $300, $400 tops, havent bought one in about 5 years tho, for 1000watters, the rest youve got , ballast ,shade etc. Resevoir may I suggest a 44 gallon drum

p.s. the special bulb is shit you should already be using best one available to you (sonT-agro or whatever brand) , an changing every year, for about $90
