An exercise in tying down

a couple of weeks ago i inherited this plant from a friend after it had blown over and snapped in a storm and they were going to throw it out....such a waste so i grabbed it...after using my old trick of bandaging with medical dressing tape, it came to and shot up... :P

this is an unknown strain and is yet to be sexed, but it will most likely be used solely for cooking so i decided to tie down the 2 main branches...it did split a little, only a few mm's but decided to tape it to prevent disease setting in...

already the branches are starting to turn upwards and i will eventually tie down again when other branches get stronger...

anyhow just wanted to share the process with anyone thinking of tying down the next time they grow outdoors, will keep the pic's updated if anyone is interested...
