ok. my room is set up. i will be using a closet about 2.5' x 4' x 8'. would this mean the sq. ft would be 10? anyways, i wil be growing with fluros aiming for stealth but i know this will cause heat probs. i have 4 shoplites running about 300 true watts. i have small fan i the closet pointed down toward the shoplites. i would love to run them 24/0 because im looking for a high yield cosidering they arent powerful lighting. ok problems : one of my ballast is HOT , i may replace it.. as it isnt a lights of america shoplite (which i find stay cooler). i have 3 daylight tubes 2 cool white tubes 2 shoplite grolux (soft white) 1 warm kitchen tube 1 soft white CFL 13 …

hey....I just stumbled onto this site....bloody awesome site it is... I have a few questions about centrifugal fans...... The 2 models I am looking at are the Elicent AXC 150B, rated at 530m3 and the Fan Tech TD 500/150 rated at 535m3. There are no fan shops of hydro shops close to me. Some websites I found don't give facts or brands. I am after QUALITY that will last. I have done google searches for fan shops, reviews etc but I am after people who have experience to give any reviews. I have a few questions.... 1/What are the warranties like on theses units? 2/What are some rough prices? 3/Where are these available? I am in QLD, know of any stockists …

Went to the hydro shop today to buy a Fan and I'm concerened that the fan he's selling me is gonna be to small. Originally (3 weeks ago) he recommended a 250mm Axial fan. Today I told him that eventually I'd need a carbon filter and asked him if I'd be better of with a Centrifugal fan. He recomended a 150mm fan, which is some what smaller. I'm worried I'm going to end up with tempreture problems. The growroom is 3m x 1.5m x 1.8m = 8 m/3 or 10' x 5' x 6'= 300 ft/3 I have 3 600 watt HPS lights Current outside temps are 25C during the day and as low as 15 during the night

I just found a post that I printed out from Overgrow. It's a formula that you can use to calculate the amount of ventilation needed if you enter in the room dimension and the amount of Kw of light and ambient tempretures. Or if you put in the room dimensions the amount of ventilation you have it will tell you the maximum amount of light you can have. I thought it would be neat if you can put it in a spreadsheet, that way you can put in the figures and it will automatically calculate the blank field, if you know what I mean?.

G'day folks! have got an air cooled 1000W hps and have been using this in a 4ft x4ft x9ft frame last few grows and getting good enough results. a few things have changed for me recently though so im rebuilding and now i have more space which got me thinking bout grow room size and my lights efficiency. would i get a better yield and maintain qaulity by having a larger room with bigger/more plants but obviously less light concentration or am i doing better by sticking to the at least 50watts/sqft rule ( 62 watts/sqft for my case). is the high watts/sqft helping me get bigger, more solid buds or will they be similar with the light spread out a bit more. I fully unde…

About to purchase a fan soon. Was gonna buy a 250mm axial fan (AllVent $220), but I will eventually need a carbon filter. Should I get a centrifugal?. Noise is a concern. My grow shed is right up against neighbours fence. Money is a concern, but if a axial isn't going to do the job I'm only wasting my money buying it. Can I get away with a axial? Area= 10'x5'x6' or 3mx1.5mx1.8m Could I get a Centrifugal and house it in a MDF box insulated with foam to reduce noise?

I've got problems with my plants not growing. It could be from light leakage during the dark period. I've switched from 24/0 to 18/6, is it safe to chenge back to 24/0?. That way I havn't got to worry about light leakage (for now). Also the plants are only 3-4" high. The lowest leaves are turning yellow from what I think is a lack of light. Is it safe to take the fluro's out and wack a 600 watt HPS in there?. What distance should I keep the 600 from the plants. I'm thinking 1 metre?. I don't think temps will be to much of a problem as its below 20c outside most of the time, and there is plenty of ventilation. They may not be growing due to cold temps too?.

hi can an carbon filter be used with a POWERFUL axial fan??? i know that typically carbon filters are used with centrifugal fans. however if an axial fan is extremely powerful (so powerful that your only running it on 25% capacity), would that be capable of properly and safely running with a carbon filter attached? ive been told that because carbon filters create back pressure, that it can slow the axial fan blades down, but if the fan is powerful enough that would not be a problem. ive also heard that the carbon can build up in the axial fan motor and cause a fire risk??? but i dont see how that would be any different to carbon building up in the centrifugal fan m…

Hello, I'm just wondering what makes 24/0 and 18/6 the 2 popular times for lights on and off during veg? At the moment I'm using 17/7. The reason being is that I try to keep lights on only when I am home, well as much as I can anyway. Maximum daylight hours in Australia seem to be around thee 14.5 hrs a day mark on our summer solstice, so is bringing the veg light cycles down adversly affecting my plants? Assuming the strain I have isn't an indoor strain red for long light hours, or an outdoor from some crazily long daylight hours place in the world. Also, do they really grow during the night? I'm thinking that 'night' forces us not to look at out plants too much (y…

hi all i have a few questions regarding carbon filters i was hoping someone could clear up for me 1. i notice they come in different lengths. eg 250mm diameter is available in 500mm, 800mm, 1000mm length. what is the difference between a longer vs shorter filter? (besides price difference) . would a shorter filter be less efficient or be more restrictive on the air flow? should one always go for the longest filter they can afford/use? 2. what length filter would you recommend in (for example) a 4 x 1000 watts HPS g-room with a 250mm centrifugal fan (500watt fan - very powerful). 3. where should the filter be mounted? before or after the fan? (i have been …

is there such a thing as too much light??? ive just moved ladies that are 3 weeks into veg (2 foot tall) from a veg G-room which has 50 watts per square foot of MH light, into the flower G-room where they are beeing trained into a SCROG. the flower G-room has 90 watts per sqaure foot of mixed MH and HPS light (approx 60/40 ratio). is this too much light? note the temp in the veg and flower room averaged about the same at lights on(30 - 32 degrees at the canopy) the reason im asking is that once they were moved, half of the bigger ladies seemed to wilt slightly. the wilting was uniform (all over) but only affected the bigger ones when they were in the veg roo…
