Can i use a socket extension with a max wattage of 600 into a 40 watt desk lamp using a 130w globe? Thanks for any help i know it's a noobish question i just need clarification on what socket extension actually do?

Hey guys I've finally started my first grow - I got some afghan seeds from MJ seeds, germinated in kitchen towel, then planted in a jiffy pellet, then once the roots began showing, removed the netting and placed into a soil mix of worm castings, compost, perlite, peat and potting soil. They are growing awfully slowly though, its been two weeks and theres only 3 sets of leaves, and they aren't tall not sure why - just germinated two more seeds, and trying those two in Coco - the seedling has popped through after two days of the seed with taproot being in the coco, and the the seed should be shed soon. Hello fellow stoners, I have just started my grow and the weather has clapped out hard core so i was thinking of growing indoors in pots with soil, under lights to avoid death b4 havest? is this a good choice? and where is the best place to buy cheap grow lights ? or does any1 have a spare or second hand 1? also ill attach pis of my plants so far

Hi all been using a hpm timer for my hps and now its started to forget when to turn off.Stayed on for 2 1/2 hours longer than it should have for my bloom room hope it dosent stress them any one have any advise on a good timer to run with a 400w hps Cheers

Post man dropped off an 8 inch silencer today and I'm wondering what the optimal position for it is. I know it has to go after the exhaust fan but as I see it I have three options. First is directly after the fan, second is half way into the ducting and lastly is having it at the very end. As far as I can tell all come with advantages and disadvantages. If its directly after the fan the air will hit it immediately but it then needs to do a 90 degree turn and go almost 3m through ducting so turbulence will have a greater chance of building up. If its at the very end it will only get the last bit of turbulence which will still have the ducting vibrate making noise anyw…

hey everyone, i was talking to a mate the other day about the possibility of him increasing the light in his 2X2 tent from 1200w to maybe 2400w or even more just for a cycle. (this would be using my two lamps) i guess it would be a bit of an experiment to see what would happen to his 4 plants in there. has anyone tried dumping like 600w or more straight on their girl? i was wondering how much light might be two much? without taking the extra heat into consideration

Has anyone noticed the price rises for HPS bulbs? Some shopping around helps with prices but wowie they've gone up a lot. Glandore Hydro seems to sell at the highest prices . Their LucasGrow 600watt is $75 compared to Hyalite's price of $63. From my quick searches it appears the Hyalite outlets are the cheaper. Other 600watt bulbs at Glandore sell for around the $80 mark.!! Anyone here have other local (Australian) prices and outlets for 600watt HPS, please?

Hi All, Does anybody know where to get the Sun System lamp socket cords in Australia? I've found them on ebay in the US but shipping is more then the cord it's self. I could always put on the round earth pin type that is most common here in Australia but I dont really want to do that if I can help it. Cheers

I've decided to build a large box to store my "tools" in. The dimensions I am looking at for my "tool box" are 2m long x 2m high x 0.8m wide. Lighting: 1x Air cooled with hood with digital ballast - 600W MH globe for vege and then 600W HPS 6400K globe for flowering. I plan to install carbon filter -> ducting -> light -> ducting -> 250 CFM blower -> out (all 150mm ducting) Should I have gone 1000W or will 600W be enough?

I am pumping in fresh air from outside into my small room that contains my grow tent. Now the room i am pumping air into is naturally cool because of the way the house is cut into the side a hill. Tomorrow fingers crossed i will install my intake fan and ducting, (I Will add i have a exhaust system pumping the hot air out of the system under the house.) I have been pondering at what height should i bring in the ducting for the fresh air? All the intakes lay in the ground (heat rises should be coldest on the ground) i thought that if i pump it up high and let the exhaust fan suck it in low that might give it some more time to cool?
