Here is my most recent Blog... Enjoy! Alison xx LEAP Blog… April 10th, 2008 Dying for Compassion Hi. Been a rough last while reading stories in the last few weeks like the one I’m going to write about here. The story that I’m going to tell you here is the story of Jayci Yaeger and is one of both triumph and sadness. Hopefully people will take much from this Blog, including the fact that people who are caught up in the world of illegal drugs - do not belong in the legal system. How many times do we have to say, “there is no room for drugs in a legal realm!” Where in the Lord’s name - is Compassion?? This week I will reiterate things I have said in p…

Christian Democratic Health Minister Ab Klink agreed to undertake the review at the behest of parliamentarians concerned that the easy availability of the weed is leading to increases in youth drug abuse. PENALTIES for cultivating cannabis hydroponically and amphetamine production will be drastically increased under proposed new legislation. The Government's aim is to curb the trade in very strong cannabis and have the courts treat amphetamine use and production as seriously as the most serious of illicit drugs - heroin. Attorney-General Michael Atkinson said the Government regarded amphetamines as "a scourge in our society" and a drug that needs to be treated on the same level as heroin. Mr Atkinson said the Government had pledged before the 2006 state election that it would legislate to ensure courts treated the sale and manufacture of amphatemines, ecstasy and sim…

Cannabis flavoured candies that contain no THC have been made illegal in Georgia because they are considered a gateway to drugs and a dangerous lifestyle. I can't even express how stupid this is without a long string of profanities.... The full story is here: http://www.environmentalgraffiti.com/busin...in-georgia/1001

Here's my most recent Blog. Hope you enjoy! Alison xx LEAP Blog March 29, 2008 Record Drug Overdoses Sadden Me Prohibition is causing too many people to die as an anonymous statistic. We should be shocked and dismayed when the Center of Disease Control releases statistics showing skyrocketing overdoses. An excellent article by Drug War Chronicles "Drug Overdose Deaths Are Going Through the Roof -- Is Anybody Watching?" made me more aware of this growing tragedy. http://stopthedrugwar.org/chronicle/528/ov...aths_increasing Sadly we were not alarmed when 33,000 people accidentally died from drug overdoses in the year 2005. The third leading cause o…

QUEENSLAND Premier Anna Bligh has admitted to smoking marijuana as a teenager in the 1970s. Ms Bligh said she gave it up because it made her sick. "Like many other people in the late 1970s, yes I did encounter marijuana at parties, but I'm pleased to say, for my sake, it made me sick and I didn't go on to become anyone who used it regularly," she said. Ms Bligh's admission comes days after Federal Treasurer Wayne Swan admitted to smoking the drug in his youth. However, Ms Bligh said smoking the drug was not the major regret of her teenage years. "What I have major regrets about is ever trying a cigarette and smoking for 10 years of my life," she said. "If I coul…

Dakta Green, the co-ordinator of the 2008 National Cannabus tour, making his point at Puke Ariki yesterday. Standing beside his green bus, over looking the green of Puke Ariki, "Dakta Green" inhales, smiles and blows a thick cloud of smoke in the air. "It's very simple," he says. "We wish to legalise cannabis." Mr Green (aka Ken Morgan) was in New Plymouth yesterday on board "Maryjane the Cannabus" with members of the national organisation for the reform of marijuana laws (Norml). The group was on a nationwide tour planning to visit 42 towns and cities in 42 days, holding a protest at 4.20pm every day. "We want to stop people being locked in jail for cannabis of…
