Cannabis Kills Human Glioma Cells
Cannabinoid action induces autophagy-mediated cell death through stimulation of ER stress in human glioma cells Published April 1, 2009 Received for publication November 3, 2008, and accepted in revised form February 11, 2009. http://www.jci.org/articles/view/37948 Autophagy can promote cell survival or cell death, but the molecular basis underlying its dual role in cancer remains obscure. Here we demonstrate that Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the main active component of marijuana, induces human glioma cell death through stimulation of autophagy. Our data indicate that THC induced ceramide accumulation and eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2α (eIF2α) phospho…

Opinion - Medical Marijuana Benefits
Cannazine Mitch Earleywine, Ph.D. is an associate professor of psychology at SUNY Albany who believes marijuana should be legalized for medical purposes stating that therapeutic use of marijuana has a history spanning over 4,500 years. The most humane and just approach to helping the sick requires that we continue the availability of medical marijuana. Evidence supporting medical marijuana - for appetite loss, glaucoma, nausea, vomiting, spasticity, pain, and weight loss is quite impressive. Evidence for its use for arthritis, dystonia, insomnia, seizures, and Tourette’s syndrome is also very promising. Opponents of medical marijuana mention that other drugs are ava…

Bend over, it's time to get high. The low down on suppositories
A most outrageous profession. While at the Expo, Dan comes up with the most hilarious product idea I’ve ever heard. “My company is Cannabanus,” he says in his best Dutch accent, “and my product is the new cannabis suppositories. You put the cannabis into the plug, the plug goes into your butt. Then you are getting high very quickly and efficiently. There are many blood vessels in the anus and they are absorbing the THC at an extremely fast rate. It’s called the Assinator.” I stumbled on this method for making them. How to make Suppositories To make marijuana caps, buy capsules at a homeopathic pharmacy or through the internet. The vendor will also have a sma…

Marijuana use during pregnancy
First of all i just wanted to say I'm new, so a big hello to everyone And second of all, i was just wondering if anyone has seen or read the report done by Dr. Melanie Dreher, an American researcher who conducted one of the most in depth, invariable studies into cannabis use during pregnancy? Here is a link to a video where she discusses the study and results if you have 30min to kill ) As she explains, the study was carried out in Jamaica with 30 using, and 30 non-using mothers through out their pregnancy. All of the mothers where from similar social-economic backgrounds, and due to the culture and remoteness of Jamaica, there were very few variables involved, …

Best place to do this
I have smoked marijuana for a few years because of increasing back pain and have decided its all an illusion so I have quit. I have allowed myself to be intimidated into thinking nothing is wrong with - pain should be felt and marijuana is too good at hiding chronic pain. Ive never felt comfortable using marijuana for pain relief because it clouds my thoughts. I decided a long time ago that Id rather die of a heart attack than any wasting disease so Im going to get hooked up with some designer drugs that should shorten my lifespan in a more positive way. Legalize it but criticize it!

This article by me appeared in Treating Yourself Magazine #13. It is my story of the road to recovery from PTSD. The Use of Cannabis Tinctures to Treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) I am a sufferer of the insidious illness known as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. It has plagued my life for nearly 31 years. It has cost me a wife, my home, my kids, and finally, my sanity. It took me to the depths of despair, and led me into a life of poly-drug use in an attempt to escape the horrors of my mind. There seemed no escape. It was not until I started to hear reports that cannabis was a valuable tool in dealing with PTSD that I began to feel some hope that things may…

Hi I just stmbled across this forum while looking for information for my son. He has serious depression and the ONLY thing that works is marijuana. The problem is getting the damn stuff. He has medicine from the Dr which quite frankly does nothing much apart from turn him inot a Zombie. On weed he is active and awake. What i want to know is does anyone know a legal alternative that i can buy over the counter? Anything just to tide us over. He's so sick and i'm afraid of what could happen if he doesnt get his "proper medicine" soon.

Health Info
Hi there folks, Reading through the various med posts re: cancer cures, I wish to ask the following question: Has anyone heard of Essiac and the Rene Caisse story? Thoughts, Comments? There's a whole lot of misinformation out there over this possibility and it's sure difficult and time-consuming to decipher. I'm interested in hearing peoples experience here as I believe there's truth to the story. There most certainly cannot be so much info and stories out there - and survivors and personal accounts/witnesses - for it not to hold some truth. Moving on... I wish to direct your attention to the following site: Tim O'Shea Go here, enter the site and go to the cha…

How dangerous is Marijuana?
The question of is smoking Marihuana dangerous will largely depend on who you ask, where they get their information, the reliability of the information, and whether or not the individual has actually partook of the ‘herb’. Furthermore to what do we compare the alleged dangerousness of this plant; hashish, heroine, cocaine, methamphetamine, alcohol, tobacco, narcotics or physician prescribed FDA approved medication? The idea that Marijuana is harmful to the health of an individual is based on studies done in the 1960’s and 1970’s. In the book “Marijuana Myths, Marijuana Facts:” Dr. Lynn Zimmer and John Morgan address this issue: “In 1972, after reviewing the scienti…
