General Cultivation Q&A

So i received these Afghani Regular Seeds, both came in the same labeled bag from the same place etc etc, germed both in equal conditions in same medium and all, and they just look so different? Now im a complete noob, this being my first grow but is this normal? Initially i thought there may have been a mix up in strain but i feel like thats probably not the case, could one be male or do they just vary a lot usually? Cheers! This is them! See how blueys leaves are skinnier and it just seems, idk lanky?

Hello guys, I'm new to Australia and I'd like to grow one or two plants there. Where do you usually buy all the necesary things? I went to bunnings and saw I can buy pots, soil and fertilizer there. But what about the rest? I mean things like light meter, pH meter (with all the solutions), pH up & down, lights etc.. Do you buy it online on ebay and amazon or is there a real store here (Sydney) where I can buy it in person?

My grow space in my closet is getting up to 40° during day , I know this is too hot but I have exhaust and circulating fan and a chiller keeping res at a cool 19°, will plant be ok ? any advice muchly appreciated Peace man

Hi Everyone, I have two girls 28 days in flower. Things going swell. Beautiful frosty colas, lovely smell when I open the door....but then I spot them. Seeds. Here and there. So disappointed. I've scoured the plants and can't find any bananas or male flowers. The only thing I can think of is I had a male spraying his pollen all over the place in the same room about 6-8 months ago, however I vacuum the room out and had it aired for a while before growing another lot. Any advice? I'm not planning on chopping them down, unless someone says that the buds will be unsmokeable by the time harvest comes around. Aah...I dunno. perhaps I'm just wanting a shoulder to cry on.…

Spent big on a chiller today for my single dwc was hesitant before but more so now as the 400 liter per hour power head pump I got won't even push water to the chiller so have to spend more , think I've got buyers remorse

I'm growing only one plant that's why I don't think I have to invest into carbon filter. The plant has started giving off the typical odour. What locally available product would you recommend to get rid of the smell? Is the popular Ona block available somewhere here in AU?

Hi Guys, This is my first grow and i need the help of you veterans. I raised my grow from seed and they seemed to be doing well however I have recently repotted them into 30 cm pots using a grow medium consisting of Hortico potting mix, perlite, vermiculite, a small amount of dynamic lifter and some organic compost. Since repotting them I have noticed most of the plants are cupping one quite badly and a couple of them seem to be getting the "claw" look (shown in pic), Is this nitrogen toxicity? I dont think im over/under watering as when I put my finger in the soil it is only slightly damp. If it is nitrogen toxicity due to the dynamic lifer should I repot again witho…

Guys, if a seed description says:"Indoor flowering period: 75 days". Does it mean that I can start harvesting approx 75 days after planting or does it mean that only the flowering period itself lasts 75 days but it doesn't say how long it will take for the plant to start flowering?

I thought it could be fun to do a little online shopping with anybody who would like to offer any advice to a new comer. Maybe the more veteran participants could shed some light as far as cost-saving measures and keeping the overall set up cost to a bare minimum. Scenario. A first time grower intending on cultivating 2 plants in a small space such as a cubbord or hidebox etc on a very limited budget. The grower has seed in hand and a very light fist full of $50 notes. I use a 10cm square Gal weldmesh screen for the scrog and its been working well. However, the last couple of grows I have tried allowing the plant to grow upwards during the veg/flower changeover so that their are more bud sites below the main bud on each stem. This works well, however it creates a top heavy branch above the scrog screen and the last couple of weeks of flower some usually fall over blocking some light and air to other buds underneath it, not ideal. So...what can I use for the second screen? I'm thinking some light plastic mesh and the 10cm squares would again be good...thoughts?
